Dratoul Caste Hierarchy

The Dratoul society is based upon a Caste system. This system however does not separate the Dratoul by class but more of their roles in society, there are currently known to be 5 such castes and little else is known about them. From the Age of Passing (Ghra-Tos), which is believed to be at age 14, a young Dratoul’s body will start to develop into its pre-destined role. At the ceremony of the Ghra-Tos, the young Dratoul is placed into a psionic trance by a Yolin-Bri and the psionic energies of the youth will cause the body of the entranced Dratoul to become incased in a sort of pod. They stay in this pod of about a month while their bodies are re-shaped and their minds and abilities developed. When they emerge from these pods, their caste is already known to them and they will readily accept and look forward for further training. Only the Ruling Caste is NOT determined in this way.

The Ruling Caste (Dekli-Antor)
The First and most important is of course the ruling caste, this caste however has been consisting of the same family for almost 6,200 years. The Sangstir Family has been on the throne since the Great War when Lir-Teel Sangstir Jonr-Te, the Imperial General to the late Izurth Hasden-Jox, also known as the Izurth Mendalarg Zu Frolaint (Queen of the Righteous Light). Izurth Hasden-Jox ruled over her people with kindness and the Dratoul lived in peace until during their space explorations when they came upon a race of beings known as the Mechanoids. What started as a peaceful meeting of two peoples quickly escalated into the bloodiest and longest war ever in Dratoulian history. It was one year after the Great War that Izurth Hasden-Jox passed on and in her last official decree stated that since her 4 sons and 2 daughters were killed, the crown would pass to the next most capable person which in Dratoul Law was the Lir-Teel. Jonr-Te reluctantly accepted this honor and swore to rebuild their lost society from the ashes it was almost buried in. For over 6,000 years the Dratoul continued to rebuild their race, and with every royal succession the prospered. The current rulers are Mengst Sangstir Klihj-Holhn (age unknown) and Izurth Sangstir-Melrr (aged 167), they have 2 sons (Jaree Sangstir Vil-Dar aged 68 and Jaree Sangstir Zihke-Gor aged 34) and a daughter is being carried.

The position of Mengst/Izurth is decided then upon the most prominent Provincial Lord. This decision has caused terrible civil-wars between the provinces of the Dratoul which spread between 7 planets and 24 moons. The rule of the Mengst/Izurth is absolute and is followed without question, the penalties for disobedience range from public floggings to incarceration to death.

The Religious Caste (Bravthin-Moort)
This caste provides the Dratoul with not only religious principles but also acts as the courts in the Dratoul society. A local Judicator carries out matters from crimes against the state to simple disputes. The Bravthin Conclave High Council is the figure head of all laws and justice and also represents the highest court with the Mengst/Izurth, the Conclave High Priest and Imperial Executor as judges for only the most serious of cases. It is also in this caste that the most psionically proficient members of the Dratoul are trained. The famed Bravthin Monastery of Drato Prime (Mar Srin Fola) turns out most of the priest who are to be the enforcers or what could be said to be knights of their religion. In the Bravthin religion, positions of authority are earned by those who posses the necessary skills and ability in this psionics. The Calen-Bri is chosen by a religious ceremony from all of the clothed priests except the Gul-Bri (religious knights), the Tan-Bri (Temple guards) or the Caleg-Bri (High Priest Personal Guards). The only differences between the 3 are that the Gul-Bri also act as traveling judicators for the people who are far from the hand of the temple and that the Caleg-Bri and the Tan-Bri hardly ever leave the temples. Only once in recorded history has any of these been chosen, Calen-Bri Grob-Janu who was a Gul-Bri during the Great War and was of unquestionable principles. The following is the rank structure that is currently known for the Bravthin Conclave Temple (Bri-Klai) in the Dratoul Capital on Drato Prime. From the time of Ghra-Tos the young apprentice will enter the temple he or she was re-born in and will enter a period of indoctrine and then another 5 years of apprenticeship. At the end of that they decide from there if they join the ranks of the Mar Srin Fola or if they continue to hopefully become a Hadeo-Bri or Calen-Bri.

In all other smaller temples the highest rank will be of the Yol-Bri. It is unknown exactly how many Narun-Bri’s and apprentices there are for like the Yolin-Bri, they must travel the lands of the Dratoul and even out into space for a period of 25 years before they are given a flock of their own.

The Warrior Caste (Terak-Hlon)
From the Age of Passing the young Dratoul is allowed 3 months to spend with their families and then they are sent to a training camp (Terak Lnor). They spend a minimum of 2 years with no contact from the outside world while they are trained to fight, at the the end of this period they emerge as a Girant. If they want to continue their training to become pilots (Meth or Menir) they can look forward to another 4 years of training. Dratoul soldiers and pilots fight to the death, they will show surprising amounts of mercy but have been known to enter a bloodlust state in which they will kill anything that crosses their path. The Dratoul do not wear much armour and has been found that even though they sometimes wear a sort of helmet, it is NOT a sealed environmental armour. The Dratoul soldier’s body has been reconditioned that they are able to breath without air and function in space for about 2 hours. Their bodies are also super tough (MDC).

A note must be made to the great ships of the Dratoulian fleets. It is unsure how these ships are manned, it is rumored and legend that each of these great ships are either controlled by a powerful A.I. or they are alive although they are directed by the Dratoul they carry and they register to be permeated with psionic energy.

The Builder Caste (Lask-Xair)

Much is unknown about the Lask-Xair, these Dratoul seem to be the creators of everything in the Dratoul Race, everything from clothing to art to the 4 mile long Strio-Laz Flagships to buildings. There are 3 levels of rank within the Lask-Xair.

Master Builders (Jron-Lask) Ship Builders (Stet-Lask)

Builders (Lask)

Apprentice Builders (Lask-Desto)

Only the Stet-Lasks can build the great ships that travel across the galaxy, the young Lask-Destos are trained for years to be able to create all that the Dratoul society will need. Lasks can create upto hand held weaponry, hover vehicles, cybernetics and simple factories. Jron-Lasks build many of the cities, orbiting stations, lunar colonies as well as all military vehicles not larger than a shuttle and can create simple A.I. computers to do their bidding. A Stet-Lask create the A.I. computers needed to run their factories and spaceships.

The Healer Caste (Drifno-Klanh)

This isn’t a caste as such, but it has been found that some Dratoul develop incredible healing abilities that grow with experience. The Dratoul are fully immune to diseases and most biological contaminants due to their psionic nature. The healers can regenerate missing limbs to regenerating brain tissue to healing simple cuts and breaks. Healers also provide the service of implanting cybernetics for those who want or need them. It is rumored that the seriously injured under go a procedure that allows them be reincarnated with a new body if they are too badly injured and beyond help.
