The mission of Saint Barnabas Parish is to seek and serve Christ in all individuals; to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ in the breaking of bread and in prayers, proclaiming by word and example the Good News of God in Christ; to continue the Apostles' teaching and fellowship and promote justice, peace and love through the ministry of its members.

St Barnabas Episcopal Church was established in Hartselle, Alabama in 1985.

St Barnabas belongs to the Diocese of Alabama, a community of 92 congregations with more than 30,000 members within the Episcopal Church in the United States and the Anglican Communion. The Diocese has congregations, worshipping communities, campus ministry centers, and outreach ministries located throughout central and northern Alabama. The Diocesan office is in downtown Birmingham, next to the Cathedral Church of the Advent.
