At the begginig of the sixties, the rock had a stop. Many events happened during the late fifties/eraly sixties made us think rock and roll was over: Elvis was listed in the army, Jerry Lee Lewis married his 14 year old cousin (What a scandal!), Chuck Berry is in jail, Buddy Holly died in a plane accident in 1959...What would happen to Rock and Roll?...It was just a temporal fever and the new are this soft ballad teen singers?

Folk is a genre whose best representant is Bob Dylan. Anothers are Joan Baez and Jerry Mc Guire. They sing about people problems, urban life, routine,the injustice of goverment. They sing our protest song. They're the population voice.

The Motown  offers very interesting options: Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, the Drifters,etc.
The female black girls groups are very famous and have really good music: The Shirelles, The Chiffons and the Supremes are the most popular.
But some people don't like black people, and they are discriminated constantly.

Folk rock is a new musical genre created by the Byrds with Roger Mc Guinn leading.
They're adapted the Dylan's folk lyrics with the 4/4 beat of the Beatles
One of their biggest hits is Hey Mr. tambourine man
Some say they're the American answer to the Beatles

The Beach boys is not just a surf period musical group. Their compositions are amazing with beautiful voices harmonizations.
Brian Wilson is one of the most experimental composers that has crated such songs as the wonderful "Good Vibrations" which is an smashing hit.

Yes, they're a group from a TV sitcom, that became real !! and I just love them!
Peter Tork, Mike Nesmith,Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones get the whole world into the Monkeesteria!!

Times are certainly changing... Amazing groups like the Beatles had evolutionated everything.  We though the Beatles  would break up this year, when they stop touring. But fortunalety they didn't! The came to shut up critics mouths with the  release of their wonderful and surrealistic  album

Now the tendency is all around California. The Mamas and the Papas talk about the "Califonia Dreamin'" and Scott Mc Kenzie tells that we must be sure to wear some flowers in our hair if we go to "San Francisco"
The Monterrey Pop festival features some of the greatest bands of both sides of the Atlantic all in the middle of a hippie, peace and love atmosphere
It's so sad that at this point, Vietnam War continues

Janis... She has an awesome style of singing and such a feeling. She's a hippie girl outstanding!

The Doors. They are such a great band, his leader singer Jim Morrison is very attractive but quite rude. "Light my fire" is one of the greatests hits of the year.
