Ahh Hero 6, the king of the Quest For Glory fan projects! From 1999 to 2006 this project was the talk of the town in the AGS/QFG communities.

In the end its vast size and scope was its downfall and it died a slow death 2006 to 2008, yet this game had so much potential. These early pictures I've painstakingly found around the net at various sites show the amazing dedication and art work that went into this doomed project.
However on the bright side this project sourced out many amazing artists and skilled game making fans who left to form their own project groups like AGD Interactive (The King’s Quest 1+2 remakes & Quest For Glory 2 Remake) and Infamous Adventures (Quest for Infamy and the King’s Quest 3 + Space Quest 2 Remakes). Hopefully many more games will come from these talented organisations.

Updates:
• In march 2010 one of the Hero6 team confirmed that a few people were still working on the game so there is still hope that maybe one day the project will be finished, all we can do is cross our fingers.

• At the end of 2011 the final remaining admin closed the project and released the source code to the public over at the AGS Forums. A similar thread over at the Quest for More Glory forums one of the original Hero6 team revealed the original story plot, while over at the Infamous Adventures Forums released a VERY IMPRESSIVE Pre-Alpha version of the game (complete with videos, a town filled with NPCs to talk to, and a large forest containing many different enemies to fight) and also revealed the story of how a 2nd Hero6 project started up in secret over at AGD Interactive, however that too unfortunately died a slow death. However there is still a faint hope as several active game makers (including the creator of Grim Quest) have expressed an interest in using the source code to continue the project. So for the moment I will still longingly still list this project as barely active.

• Recently over at the Hero6 forum at Quest for More Glory Deltamatrix was kind enough to provide a copy of the big old 2006 MAD engine demo when the project was at its biggest. This demo spans a much larger game area to explore compared to the 2009 AGES demo and also contains 2 more villages to find and explore! I've added it to the downloads area below. I have also created playthrough videos of both demos below!
** Special thanks to Deltamatrix (Hero6's Final Admin) for sending me additional information and the demos.
