This poem was written by a dear friend of mine in memory of Laci and Connor Peterson.

For a time you were assumed missing,
Little did we know you were already found.
While the Christmas trees were glistening
People were searching for you all around.

Our minds were racing from here to there
Hoping you would soon be coming home
As the whole world showed how they care
God was holding you from this earth's zone

As our hearts wept and tears fell
God was holding you so tight so close
We were all focused and were going through hell
God got to see you counting Connor's little toes.

We did not know you were no longer here
God came and took you with open arms
The whole world holds you and Connor near.

Once, just a tiny little person
A frail little thing noone gave a chance
Except me
I knew you would be strong one day
And stubborn and strongwilled about things
Like me
I see more of me in you everyday
And you know that we are two of a kind,
You and me
You were my first son, my tiny infant
And now you are nearly an adult
Taller than me
I know sometimes I seem harsh, unyeilding,
But you know I do it for you
Not for me
I love you and that is why sometimes I yell
And I have to get mad
And it hurts me
But you know that I love you
And you know I have my reasons
And that you are like me
But you have your own strengths
Your own heart, your own life,
But you are still my baby.
