Product Description

You might best recognize ol’ Morty as the persona of Warner Brothers classic “simpleton” character Beaky Buzzard. Mortimer always seemed to turn shy around the ladies, but it certainly wasn’t for lack of enthusiasm as he was prone to exclaim excitedly, “It’s a girl!” whenever an attractive woman came near. This Mortimer Snerd Doll is ready for the big city in his blue-and-white checkered sports-jacket and matching slacks, black socks and shoes, white dress shirt, large red bow tie, and red-banded straw hat. Additionally, Mortimer has molded brown hair and that ever-disarming droopy-lidded, bucktoothed expression essential to his appeal. Each celebrity ventriloquist doll comes with a set of basic instructions included on “How To Be A Ventriloquist” in a practical, plastic case for storing and transporting Mortimer Snerd to your next amateur or professional show. * Mortimer Snerd measures 30” (76 cm) in length and is ready for immediate use. * The Standard Doll features original specifications from the manufacturer. The mouth is operated via a string affixed to the back of the doll’s head. * The Upgraded Doll features a head mounted on a control stick for enhanced operational function. The ball-and-socket joint permits the doll’s head to be turned left and right, to be moved up and down, and to be tilted, permitting a wide range of lifelike expression. Additionally, the mouth can be opened and closed using a lever on the control stick and the doll features a hollow, lightweight body. * All Upgraded Dolls include a one year warranty on parts and labor and require additional assembly. Please allow up to 10 business days for product assembly.

A Great Ventriloquist Dummy For Kids5
When I was about 3 my brother got the Charlie McCarthy Ventriloquist Dummy for kids. Altough he didn't do much ventriloquism he still fooled with it. I picked up ventriloquism at age 8. At age 9 I got the Mortimer Snerd Dummy for kids. My dad used to have one as a kid. I have gotten better at ventriloquism and I even started a comedy show and Mortimer is my main character in the show.

This toy sucks the big one1
This toy might be a little fun if it was operated by a string tied to his head. if your going to make this kind of doll do it properly by using a control stick like a profecional dummy. the puppets not a dummy the manufacurer and the desiner of the puppet are the dummies.

I love my Mortimer!5
I got this doll when I was about 8 (early 80's) at my Grandmother's house. My sister got WC Fields and my brother got Charlie McCarthy. I picked out Mortimer myself. I've had him now these many many years and he is still great. Unfortunately the string broke in the 90's (about 10 years after I had him) and so cannot use him as a ventriloquist doll anymore, but boy did we have fun with our dolls! I think he's unique looking and even liked him when I was a kid (obviously since I picked him). But he kind of freaks other people out, especially young kids (like the clown in Poltergeist). My daughter likes him though, go figure. I wish I could fix the string. It might not be a professional doll, but it was a great toy for us as kids and kept us entertained for hours!
