Bears Vote Rainier Beer their Favorite
I just saw this article in my local newspaper, the Kansas City Star. I just got resettled and new computer on line after about 6 months off line. I served on Rainier in 66 and 67 in 1st and 3rd Divs. Anyway as they used to say this is no s - -t".

Bear is Bullish on Beer but Picky on the Brand.
BAKER LAKE WASHINGTON/
When the state fish and wildlife agents found a black bear passed out on the lawn of Baker Lake Resort there were clues - dozens of empty cans of Rainier beer.
The bear apparently got into campers' coolers and used his claws and teeth to puncture the cans - and not just any cans.
"He drank the Rainier and wouldn't drink the Busch beer". said Lisa Broxson, bookeeper at the resort east of Mount Baker.
Fish and wildlife enforcement officier, Bill Heinck, said the bear did try one can of Busch but ignored the rest. The beast then consumed about 36 cans of Rainier.
A wildlife agent tried to chase the bear from the campground, but the animal climbed the tree to sleep it off for four more hours. Agents finally herded the bear away, but it returned the next morning.
Agents then used a large, humane trap to capture the bear for relocation. It baited the trap with the usual: donuts and honey - and, in this case, two open cans of Rainier.
That did the trick. "This is a new one on me", Heinck said.
The above article is exactly as written in the KC Star....
Personally it sounds like a couple of old Rainier sailors must have been partying at the campground. That bear can't be a beast if it chose Rainier over Busch.
