Pen Pictures of the Stevenage Borough Team
DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No League football AGAIN next season. A poor, complacent run-in means we stew in the Realms of Non-League Football for ANOTHER season. Better luck next time lads.
Paul Barrowcliff - Midfield (Captain)
Paul capped a fabulous title-winning season last year as Player of the year. Paul was the playmaker who engineered many of the moves that led to the side's 100+ goal haul.
Des Gallagher - Goalkeeper
Veteran of over 300 competetive appearances for the club Des was called up for England's Semi-pro Clash with Holland last season. Last season he was involved in a massive battle with best buddy Richard Wilmot for the No. 1 shirt. He has had the majority of games this season although this is purely due to some exemplary performances of late and not related to any lack of form by Richard. GET A HAIRCUT DES!
Richard Wilmot - Goalkeeper
Fantastic keeper. - Good haircut. Genuine great guy in general. (I am his No.1 fan.)- sorry Des. Never on the losing side in a league game last season.
Robbie Mutchell - Full Back
Made the left-back position his own. A class above conference football. If we don't go up we might have trouble keeping him.
Mark Smith - Defender
Capped by England regular at Semi-Pro level. Very consistent defender who has kept our back four in line like an army Sgt. through good an less-good times. A couple of wavers in form have been set straight and he is now back to his best.
BARRY HAYLES - Deity like Forward
Rated even by BBC match of the day pundits Hill, Lynam & Hansen as the brightest star in the none-league sky. He has the quickest feet, the lightest touch and can unleash power that is the bain of all Goalkeepers washing Machines.
Efetobor Sodje - Defender
Efe Sodje is one of the most athletc defenders you are ever likely to see. If theres a ball in the air to be won he can leap so high you ALWAYS know who will get to the ball first. The Nigerian Under - 21 international wears a bandana as a mark of respect to his mother's tribe in Nigeria.
Kenny Webster - Full Back
A consistent defender with a powerful shot from set pieces. Ex Peterborough & Arsenal.
Ryan Kirby - Full Back - (Looks like Danny Marr)
Formerly of Arsenal & Doncaster Rovers. An integral part of the new five-man defence. Very skillfull and with a pretty hot strike on him. - useful
Stuart Beevor - Midfield
Stuart had a tremendous title-winning season and has remained consistently a class apart since the start of the season.
Corey Browne - Forward
Second highest scorer (after Barry) last season. A very impressive allround player and great link-man.
Neil Trebble - Forward
The tallest man in the world. And at times hairyest. - ugh. Shave it off! Signed during a spell in the ar,y and nicknamed "Sarge" Good in the air although recent lack of fitness has been apparent. - Altitude sickness?
Cary Crawshaw - Forward?
Gary has been, well, poor this season. It seems the appearance on BBC's "They think it's all over" about the ballet has gone to his head. Along with several talent inhibiting substances by the look of it. Booed off the pitch recently he needs to sort himself out again. The negative attitude of the supporters hasn't helped. He deserves credit for sticking to the task with such durability. - I still rate him. Maybe it's time for the old haircut to return?
Carl Adams - Shiny Midfield Talent Bloke.
Before talking about Carl I'd like to point out that the title above is this page's Dominik Diamondesque "Funny bit" which I like to call "The Dominik Diamondesque funny bit"
Carl is a class apart from the Conference league. A goal on your debut. - No thanks. I'll have a hat-trick. Only just signed on the dotted line after a loan spell of a couple of months.
Paul Fairclough - David Gower Lookalike extraordinaire (& Manager)
Taken the team from strength. - THE best manager in non-league football. WELL DONE PAUL! Get your own Free Home Page
