Reepacheep!?!

Reepacheep, you say? Yes, you heard me! Here is the most frequently asked question I get:

What is the significance of Reepacheep?

Well, I can tell you! It has no connection to The Lion King, Reepicheep (note the "i") is a character in a book called "The Chronicles of Narnia" (not to be confused with the "Chronicles of the Pridelands" – which is an excellent fanfic in my opinion!) by C.S Lewis. The character in question (Reepicheep, if you’ve already forgotten – yeesh!) was actually a mouse – but I do not know much else about him – I have not read the novel!

However, I didn't find the name in the book. I picked up the name from someone in my group of friends (I believe it was either Kate or Ellen – someone help me out here!) and at the same time I acquired two adorable rats (which are now, *sniff* in ratty heaven) and named one Mumu and the other, Reepacheep.

It was around about this time, that I signed up for several things on the Internet (y’know, email addresses, chat rooms, this web space on Geocities, etc.) and required a suitable nickname, which had at least some originality. I fell upon the decision of naming myself Reepacheep, and the character has developed from there.

I still use the nickname, (you can catch ‘Reepacheep’ in several locations; including The Lion King Discussion Forum, and the Kiara’s Sahifa’s message board (where I hold one of the position’s as a moderator).

So there you have it, the significance and history of that one simple name:

Reepacheep.

Here's a piccy of the gal!

I thank you for your time!
