Gouramis

Since they are ominvorous these fish will generally eat all kinds of live, fresh, and flake foods. To keep a good balance give them a high quality flake food everyday. Feed brine shrimp (either live or frozen) or blood worms as a treat. These fish are found in streams and rivers of the tropical Far East. Gouramis get up to 6 inches and will breed at 3 inches. They are generally a good community fish. When they get older keep only with fish their own size. Gouramis have no special temperature requirements but do best between 70-88 degrees, and a ph of 6.8-8.8 making them pretty easy to keep. The male has a longer and more pointed dorsal fin than the female. They Like most fish in this family, are bubble nest builders. Their eggs as well as the fry, are lighter than water and float to the top.
