Welcome to the Gaited Horse Registry of America. We are interested in promoting the gaited breeds of the model horse world. Please feel free to contact us for any information or questions that we may not have covered in this literature. If you have a gaited breed that we may not have listed, please inform us so we can follow up and do the research to possibly include that breed in this club.REGISTRATION: Please submit to president the following info: Horses Name, Age (nonaging or aging), Sex, Breed or combination of breeds, Color, Markings, OF or CM and what mold, Sire, Dam, your Name and Address, and Email Address. Horses can be registered on 3X5 cards OR via email. This info is pertinant to the foundation of our club. "RACK ON!!" This is the title of our bimonthly newsletter. Since we are just beginning, membership needs to increase before we can expand it to more then a newsletter. Topics of interest will include anything related to a gaited breed, whether it be tack, model, how to show, how to photo, CM hints, etc. You tell me what you would like to know. This is your newsletter. The first issue is yet to be done and prepared, so it has a tentative mail date. Ad rates are as follows: Full page=$.50, 1/2 page=$.25. All ads model related are accepted but preferred to be kept to the gaited horse. CLUB FEES: Yearly membership to GHRA is $8.00. That includes the cost of mailing the newsletter, any additional mailings, unlimited registrations, etc. This fee DOES NOT include enterance to photo shows. SHOW SEASON: January 1st thru November 30th. There are no shows held the month of December due to holidays, though you are more then welcome to include points from outside shows for that month. Points are due by January 31st and if not received in time will not be counted. A point sheet will be enclosed with the rules. Please photo copy this format and please make sure each horse has his own points on his own sheets. Do not combine horses on one sheet. Judges will be needed to make our club successful, so PLEASE volunteer your time. Shows are to be held on the specified weekends and MUST be returned within 14 days of the show or your membership WILL be terminated and no fees refunded. This is only as a courtesy to your fellow members. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM ABOUT JUDGING...please call or email us IMMEDIATELY so we can inform other members. Don't wait til its too late. Our Nationals show will be held in November by (hopefully) a guest judge, outside the club BUT knowledgeable of the gaited breeds. Horses will only be allowed in Nationals if they have been entered in at least 3 monthly POS's. Calculate points by using the following table: GHRA POS's or Benefits=5x GHRA Nationals=10x Other photo shows=1x Live Shows=3x Show fees for the monthly GHRA POS are $1.50 per enterant, unlimited photos. Full results must be sent to all including the president. There will also be a racing division operated by Judy Ulmer. We will be having monthly races for the Standardbreds. These can be entered by submitting a 3x5 with the horses name, breed, sex, age, and owner and submitting a $0.10 fee. These races are considered a POS for the breed and will count toward year end awards. More info to follow as interest picks up in this section. GHRA ACCEPTED BREEDS: The following breeds are those that will be accepted for registration. Half-breds of any of these breeds will also be allowed to exhibit in the club. We are accepting ALL forms of the breeds, such as in the instance where there are 3 and 5 gaited Saddlebreds. Technically, only the 5 gaited horses should be accepted, however since these are models, there is no way to truly determine if a 3 gaited Saddlebred would have the ability to do 5 gaits.
