Lorelai runs the local inn, while Rory attends the prestigious Chilton school in nearby Hartford. In return for the money to pay for Rory's education, Lorelai and Rory have to visit Lorelai's parents, Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Herrmann), for dinner once a week. Lorelai's relationship with her parents has not be good since she ran away at 16 when she had Rory, but she and Rory are like best friends.
Both Rory and Lorelai are addicted to coffee at the local

Things get more complicated when you add Rory's
boyfriend Dean (Jared Padalecki); her best friend Lane Kim
(Keiko Agena); Luke, whose girlfriend accuses him of being in
love with Lorelai; the town's newest citizen, Luke's newphew
Jess, who quickly became competition for Dean; and all of the
other goodnatured, but gossiping townspeople. Broadcasted on
