Together Forever
Chapter 9

The morning classes went much like they usually do.  One slight difference being that Ranma was awake, for the most part anyway.  That and no property damage had been done to the school, yet.  As lunch rolled around, Akane started getting a bit uneasy.

Ranma noticed Akane's uneasiness.  As soon as the bell rang to signal lunch, he quickly guided her to a quiet and private spot on the school grounds.  Before she could say anything, Ranma started.  "I know.  I'm worried about everyone showing up, too.  Ucchan looked a bit suspicious when I grabbed you and dashed out of the room.  I hope she didn't follow us."

"How did you…oh, never mind.  Know who else I'm worried about showing up?  Shampoo.  She always finds the worst possible time to show up.  Kindda like she knows the exact moment we're alone together and actually getting along."  Akane quickly looking around to make sure Shampoo hadn't shown up.  Well at least now I don't have to be jealous of that slut glomping onto Ranma.  I can still hate her guts though.

"Yeah, I know.  Hopefully, though, it'l all be over soon." The sooner the better.  Drawing Akane into his arms.

Leaning back against Ranma, Akane sighed and slowly closed her eyes.  "Wake me up when the bell rings, okay.  Unlike you, I don't take my naps during class.  Besides, this is much more comfortable."

As Ranma gazed down at Akane, he started thinking of how, soon, no one would be able to come between them.  Still holding her, he watched how she slept peacefully in his arms.  Brushing a bit of hair out of her face, he bent down and kissed her on her forehead.

After sitting and holding Akane for awhile, the bell rang.  Ranma bent down and softly whispered into Akane's ear, "Akane.  Time to get up.  We don't want to be late for class."  Slowly Akane woke up.  "Come on Akane," Ranma said, helping her to her feet.  "I really don't wanna be late for Hinako-sensei's class.  I don't feel like having my ki drained by her again anytime soon."

"I know.  I hate having to carry you home after she does it," Akane teased him.  "Oh, come on," giving Ranma a quick kiss, "let's go."  She led him into the building and up to their classroom.

Before they opened the door to the classroom, they dropped the other's hand.  Heading towards their desks, they gave each other a look that said 'remember, I love you, always'.

This look didn't go unnoticed by Ukyo.  I have got to know what's going on between those two.  Turning to Ranma, she asked, "So Ranchan, what have you and Akane been up to lately?"

With a loud gulp, Ranma quickly glanced over towards Akane then back at Ukyo.  "Um, Ucchan.  Do you mind if me and Akane stop by after school?  We kindda need to talk to ya 'bout that."

Sensing that she wouldn't get much more out of him, she told him okay and started thinking to herself what they wanted to talk to her about.  Trying to convince herself that there couldn't be anything between her Ranchan and Akane.  Ranma soon interrupted her thoughts.

"Hey, Ucchan.  Could you give this to Akane?"  Ranma said handing her a folded piece of paper.

Without thinking much about it, she handed the paper to Akane.

Akane took the note without saying anything, only passing a quick glance over to Ranma before opening it.

        Akane,
                  Sorry to do this without asking you first, but I sortta asked Ucchan if we  could talk to her after
        school today.  I know it's sooner than we planned, but I  figure we might as well get it over with.

Slightly upset that he set this up without letting her in on it first, she had to agree that the sooner this was done, the better.  Tearing out a sheet of paper from her notebook, she wrote back:

         Ranma,
              Next time make sure you check with me before setting something like this up.  But I agree, we might
         as well get this over with.  Don't forget, we're meeting with okaasan when we get home.  She wants to start
         making preparations for the wedding.

         P.S.  Wait for me after class.

As she handed the folded note to Ukyo to pass on to Ranma, she watched to make sure that he got the note.  She sure as hell didn't want anyone else seeing what she'd wrote to him.

As Ranma read the note, he could tell Ukyo and Akane were both watching him.  Ukyo, to see if she could guess what the note said, and Akane, to make sure he understood.  When he finished the note, he looked past Ukyo to Akane and smiled and nodded, letting her know that he understood.  Turning back to face the front, he quickly stuffed the note in his school bag, leaving a very confused Ukyo wondering what had just happened.
