Season 3: What's going to happen?

A recent poll revealed your wishes about what should happen in Season 3. Do Hollywood executives actually take note of what the fans want, or are they money-making machines concerned only with the advertisers' dollar? Maybe they really do care about you! This EXCLUSIVE, TOP SECRET, CONFIDENTIAL leaked document reveals the entire story outline for next season, and it bears a striking resemblance to what you, the fans, voted for.

Nick and Lulu's burgeoning relationship suffers a temporary hiccup when she departs for the clinic in interesting San Francisco. Her mysterious stalker follows her there to torment her, and so Lulu returns to uninteresting Pittsburgh and falls into the arms of the only man she's ever loved, or possibly would love if she knew how to respond to that. (That man is Nick, in case you haven't been paying attention.) (Or even if you have.) Lulu's announcement that she's pregnant puts Nick back into intensive therapy.

Nick becomes managing partner at the firm because Burton suffers a major health crisis – repetitive strain injury from the use of a keyboard while internet dating. However, it all works out well for Fallin Snr. because he acquires a charming, sensible new girlfriend and together they persuade Shannon to come back home.

Meanwhile, Jake works behind the scenes to deliver the Fallins from evil after their parking-lot-rampage. His delicate blackmailing ensures they get off scot-free, and Burton is so grateful that he begins to treat him like his own son. Except, better. Jake heads up the new criminal defence department at the firm, where he follows in his dad's footsteps (his other dad) by gambling away his pay rise.

Over at LSP, Alvin has secured enough funding so that the clinic can return to representing only children. He spends most of the money on an even bigger coffee machine (dual purpose – it also knits cable and rib), a move that infuriates the board (except Seth, who likes olive-green sweaters with his cappuccino).

The board demotes Alvin, and James takes over as director of LSP once the hole in his chest has healed over. The board has a moral turpitude dilemma when James gets arrested for last year's assault on Taliek, but the charges are dropped due to a technicality (Detective Darger's inability to find anything salacious in the case).

Nick can't handle being James's subordinate and throws a cell phone at him. They stop speaking to each other until February sweeps, when Lulu has a statistically unlikely multiple birth. (She names the girls "Fifi", "Kiki" and "Jojo". Nick names the boy "Bart Burton", or BB for short.)

Quadruple-fatherhood quickly drives Nick to drugs. Alvin is distraught that he's failed, as Nick's sponsor, to keep him clean, and hits the bottle and karaoke bars big time. Lulu has a good laugh about Nick's "slip". Nick walks out. Lulu is headhunted by the biggest and most prestigious legal firm in the whole world and departs permanently, taking Kiki, Jojo and BB with her. She leaves Fifi behind in Burton's custody (he has taken up collecting foster children), in exchange for a lifetime supply of Chupa Chups.

Nick's workbook answers put his therapist into therapy.
