Great News!

In a recent court hearing a High court judge made the following comments....

I am also peculiarly well versed in the circumstances of this case because for the purposes of the vulnerable adults application I myself visited the Old Convent ...... I spent time there. I was shown around and met a number of people who live and work there. I remember clearly how impressed I was by the environment of the home and how impressed I was by the calm and sensitive way in which Miss Jeanette Roberts carried out her task. I was totally satisfied that the environment and home that she established there was entirely child-centred and designed to give them the greatest feeling of love and security that any vulnerable child or adult could expect or hope for. It is a community quite obviously steeped in the Christian ethic”. … “I am utterly satisfied that Miss Jeanette Roberts is a person whose child rearing abilities are above question….”

He also ruled in favour of an application by Karen for unsupervised contact with the children, and allowed all other restrictions placed on Jeanette to be lifted. ( All these restrictions stemmed from an agreement made with Social Services in August 2000, which was to be in place for one year only. However, after the year was over, the Social services insisted that the stipulations of the agreement continue to be abided by. If not, they always held over her the threat of further care proceedings being instituted.  Jeanette felt she had no alternative but to go along with their requests. Now, however, she does not need to anymore!)
