In Loving Memory of
Cori Jo
The baby I never got to hold in my arms but I will always hold in my heart!
I lost 'Cori Jo' to a miscarriage on March 8th, 1994.  I decided to name my baby 'Cori Jo' because it could be for a boy or a girl and I never got to find out what my baby was.  I decided to make this memorial for my baby because, although its been a long time, my arms still ache for my child!
A Prayer For Baby

Never to have known you, but to have loved you
Never to have held you, the way mothers do

With you I bury my hopes and dreams
For an unknown child I've never seen

But also I bury the love in my heart
And the sadness of knowing that we must part

And I pray to God to do for you
All the things that I would like to do

And to keep my baby safe from harm
To laugh and frolic in Spring time's arms

What Makes a Mother

I thougtht of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother and I know I heard God say
A Mother has a baby, this we know is true
But God can you be a Mother when your baby's not with you?

Yes, you can, He replied with confidence in His voice.
I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice.
Some I send for a lifetime and others for the day.
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay.

I just don't understand this God I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared His throat and then I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you what your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile with other children and say...

"We go to earth to learn our lessons of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a Mom who had so much love for me
I learned my lessons very quickly, my Mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh so much but I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep, on her pillow's where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear
Mommy don't be sad today.  I'm your baby and I'm here."

So you see my dear sweet one, your child is ok.
Your baby is here in My home and this is where they'll stay.
They'll wait for you with Me until your lesson's through.
And on the day that you come home, they'll be at the gates for you.

So now you see what makes a Mother.
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of right from the very start.
Though some of earth may not realize until their time is done
Remember all the love you have and know that you are a Special Mom!

Just Once

Just once, I wish I had heard
the words I had to miss.
Just once, I wish I could've seen you...
And gave you a Mother's kiss.

Just once, I wish I could've seen
the look on your face.
Or took you in my arms, sweet child,
and felt you in my embrace.

I wish I could've been there for you
when you first let out a cry.
Just once, I wish I could've seen you
before you soared with angels high.

Just once, I wish I could have told you
the stories of the love I shared.
Oh how I long to cherish you
but there was no time to prepare.

Just once, I wish I hadn't listened
when I was told you were gone.
For I was then left with empty arms...
I didn't want to be alone.

I wish I could have heard you laugh...
Or even seen you shed a tear.
But...Just once wouldn't have been enough;
For I would want you forever right here.
