Chatham Lions Club Scholarship

The purpose of the Chatham Lions Club scholarship is to assist graduates of local Chatham Secondary Schools in the pursuit of higher education by providing financial assistance to two (2) students who are qualified academically to achieve their goals.

The Club believes that the fundamental requirement to the development of a member of our society is a solid basic training prior to that person’s formal entry into his/her chosen field. Also that a student who succeeds in maintaining the highest standards of academic achievement and/or other performance deserves to be given some form of financial assistance if and when he/she needs it.

In light of this, the members of this organization will honour two (2) local secondary school graduate students annually with scholarships to the value of $500.00 each.

The scholarships will be awarded to two (2) qualified applicants who are registered full time in the second year of a post secondary institution. (Proof of registration is required before the scholarship funds are released.) ONLY ONE SCHOLARSHIP PER FAMILY WILL BE AWARDED IN ANY YEAR. Lions Club members or their relatives do not qualify for this bursary.
