||If you're looking at our website, you've probably already done your research and know what parrotlets are all about. Then, I don't need to tell you that they're fun, active "big" birds in a small package (an Amazon parrot inside a 4 inch body). We've not been breeding them for long (although we've been breeding birds on and off as a hobby since 1999), but we are enjoying them tremendously. One warning I do have to put out there, and this is something I read somewhere a long time ago and totally agree with: parrotlets are like potato chips - you can't just have one! So be warned, if you get one baby parrotlet, you might find yourself in love, and before you know it, you might have a house full :) On a serious note though, these little guys are quiet and don't take up as much space as the bigger parrots do, but they're just as much bird, and need just as much of your time and attention, as well as lots of toys and room to move around. Don't forget they're active birds that need something to do, and as all parrots they need to be handled REGULARLY if they're to stay tame. Do not get a parrotlet if you think you can lock it up into its cage, come back some time later, and still have a sweet pet bird. Basically, don't get a parrotlet if you don't have the time. But if you are a devoted/responsible pet bird owner, then you will love one of these little guys who can literally fit into your pocket, or your hair at least, and will entertain you for years to come!
