54.1.1 Those good in establishing statutes (will) not (make statutes to be) lifted.
54.1.2 (Just as) those good in carrying baby in their arms (will) not drop (the baby).
54.1.3 Offspring offer sacrifices with these (statutes) to worship ceaselessly.
54.2.1 Cultivate it in the body,
(then his) virtue (will) be real.
54.2.2 Cultivate it in the family,
(then his) virtue will be in excess.
Cultivate it in the village,
(then his) virtue will be long (lasting).
54.2.3 Cultivate it in the country,
(then his) virtue will be abundant.
Cultivate it in the world,
(then his) virtue will be universal.
54.3.x {So with the (standpoint of the) body, observe the body.}
54.3.1 With the (standpoint of the) family, observe the family.
With the (standpoint of the) village, observe the village.
54.3.2 With the (standpoint of the) country, observe the country.
With the (standpoint of the) world, observe the world.
54.3.3 How do I know the world as such?
By this.
