25.1.1 There is a state formed (from primordial) chaos.
Born before Heaven-and-earth.
25.1.2 Silent and boundless.
Standing alone without change.
25.1.3 (It) can be (regarded) as mother of creation.
25.2.1 Not yet knowing its name,
(so) write it (and) say it as Tao.
25.2.2 (And) I am forced to name it and say it as the Great.
25.2.3 Great is to say (it is) passing away.
Passing away is to say (it is going) far off.
(Going) far off is to say (it is) reversing.
25.3.1 Heaven (is embodiment of the) Great,
earth (is embodiment of the) Great,
Tao (is embodiment of the) Great,
the king (is) also (embodiment of the) Great.
25.3.2 There are four (embodiments of) the Great in the country,
and the king does hold one (of the positions).
25.3.3 Man (follows the) law (of) earth.
Earth (follows the) law (of) heaven.
Heaven (follows the) law (of) Tao.
Tao (follows) the law (of) Nature.
