Moses (a.s.) Part 2
The Sea Splits
After all the signs and trials (the flood and the locusts, the lice and the frogs, and the blood etc). Pharaoh finally decided to let the Israelites go.

So all the Israelites gathered and packed and began to leave for the "promised land". As they went Pharaoh gathered his army and went out to kill Moses and his followers.

When Pharaoh caught up with Moses; His (Moses's) followers began to panick, because they were at a dead end. Suddenly Allah made a wall of fire between Pharaoh  and Moses. Then it was commanded by Allah to Moses to strike the sea with his staff. So he struck it.

"And it (sea)  parted, and each part stood like a huge mountain."
When the Sea divided itself Moses was commanded to lead his people through it. They started descending in it happily, as they believed it was a Divine rescue for them. Although, when they had passed through it by their last person, Pharaoh  and his army entered it.

When Pharaoh saw the sea in half, he knew it was from Moses's Mighty Lord. So he could not dare to go in.
So, as it is narrated, Gabriel came in the guise of a cavalier on a horse and passed by Pharaoh 's horse and neighed to it. Then Gabriel from there entered the split sea, and behind him followed Pharaoh 's horse, which he couldn't control. When his army saw him entering it, they all entered behind at once. When all of them were in the sea, Allah commanded Moses to strike the sea with his staff. As soon as he struck it, the sea returned to its former state, and no one could survive from them.

When Pharaoh was floating in ravaging waves he finally proclaimed his belief in Allah, and showed his repentance. However, it was a time that no repentance could be accepted.

It is also said in the Holy Quraan that Allah preserved Pharaoh's body for future generations to see.
Moses (a.s.) asks to see Allah
Allah said:   "And we appointed for Moses thirty nights, and added to them ten, thus he completed the term appointed by his Lord, of forty nights, and Moses said to his Brother Aaron: 'Stand in my place among my people and do the right, and do not follow the war of the corrupt.' When Moses came at our appointed time, and his Lord spoke to him, he said: 'My Lord! Show (Yourself) to me, that I may look upon you.'

Allah said: 'You cannot see Me, but look upon the Mount, if it remains firm in its place then you shall see me., When His Lord manifested Himself to the Mount, it crumbled into a fine dust, and Moses fell down in shock. When he regained his consciousness, he siad: 'Glory be to You! I repent to You, and I am the first of the believers." (Al-A'raf 7:142-143).

Moses fasted for thirty nights of the month of Dhul-Qa'dah, and they were completed to forty with the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

When Moses went to the mountain to speak to Allah, Allah spoke to him behind a curtain. However, Moses asked Allah for the curtain to be lifted.
Allah answered "you cannt see Me"Giving him the reason that he would not be able to withstand. Because even the mountain, being stronger and firmer than humankind is unable to endure it.

The earlier scriptures say: Allah said to Moses: "O Moses! No living person would ever see Me, except that he will die instantly."

In another narration it says:
It is fire, had he uncovered it, the light of His face would burn everything of His creation that His Sight reached." (i.e. the whole creation).

So when Moses was up on the Mountain, Allah gave him the Tablets (Torah), which he had writted with His own hand.

However, when Moses came down with the Torah the Israelites were busy worshipping the Calf of gold, which they made by them selves.

Moses got very angry and threw the tablets that contained the teachings of the Torah.

Moses took the calf and burnt it in fire, then threw it in the sea. After that he commanded the calf worshippers to drink from the water, when they did their lips turned yellow, expossing them.

After everything had happened the Israelites went into their wandering.
Pharaoh 's body perfectly preserved as said in the Holy Quran
The Death of Moses
It is said from Abu Hurairah saying: The Angel of Death was sent to Moses. When he came to him Moses beat him and pushed him away. The Angel went back to His Lord and complained: "You have sent me to a slave who does not want to die."

Allah said: "Go back to him, and tell him to put his hand on the back of an ox and what ever he covers with his hand, of the hair of that ox, he will be granted an year for every hair. Moses said: "O my Lord! Then what will happen?" He replied: "Death." Moses said: "Then why not now."
