Hideaki Anno's New Work is"Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou" which is broadcast by TV-Tokyo since October 1998.
On 10/02/1998, TV-Tokyo started Hideaki Anno's New Anime "Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou" at last. A lot of anime fans in Japan have been looking forward to seeing it for a long time. These two years Hideaki Anno made real performance films rather than anime.
This work is his new age anime which is different from his former works.
26. Act 8.0 "Kanojo No Nichijou" (Her Daily Life)
This "Act 8.0" was broadcast on 11/20/98 in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. That day two short stories were broadcast. They were called "Act 8.0" and "Act 0.5." "Act 0.5" was not "Act 8.5."
These two stories were released in the two different times. "Act 8.0" was published in April 1997 as "Act 11, Sono Hi Miyazawa Yukino Wa." "Act 0.5" was pubished in December 1996 as "Extra, Sakura No Hayashi No Mankai No Shita."
Anno still follow Tsuda's original cartoon.
"Yodan: Sonogo No Miyazawa Yukino" (A Digression: Yukino Miyazawa's sequel)
- Opening Anime
- AM 4:59
Her alarm clock rang.
- AM 5:00 Uprising (Kishou)
She said to herself, "I abide by the commandment as if I were an ascetic Buddhist monk in Kouyasan Mountain."
- Washing the face
- Drinking a cup of Tomato juice
- Studying early morning
What? I cannot understand her, either.
Kouyasan Mountain is located in Wakayama Prefecture. Kouyasan includs many temples. Especially Kongoubuji Temple there is the head temple of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism. If you want to go to there, first you had better go to Nanba, Osaka. At Nanba, JR terminal, Nankai railway terminal, Kintetsu railway terminal and Osaka subway stations are located. If you can go to Nanba, you had better go to Gokurakubashi terminal by Nankai Kouya Line Limited Express "Kouya." If you get on it, you must pay a special fee.
But it is a kind of reaction against their randezvous.
The Randezvous List
- Electric catfish at an aquarium
- DEAD OR ALIVE! A Five-feature program of Spectacle Movie
- Exciting Corkscrew at a theme park, all day long
- Loitering about at a shopping center (I love it!)
- Eating up a large serving curry and rice
- Singing a lot of anime theme songs at a booth called "Karaoke Box" right through 12 hours
- AM 6:23 Studying (Benkyouchu)
Yukino began to overcome Arima. Hideaki Anno expressed her mortification by a painting using a writing brush. Arima studied harder than Yukino when they randezvoused.
- AM 7:00 Awaking her family (Kazoku Okosu)
She kissed her two sisters.
They were shocked and got up.
They said to Yukino, "Creepy! What a thing you did early morning!"
Her dog "Pero-pero" made faces at Yukino.
- AM 7:17 Breakfast (Choushoku)
- A cup of rice
- A cup of miso-soup
- Broiled piece of salmon with salt
- Grated Japanese radish (with soy sauce)
- Drowned kidney beans
- Pickles (Japanese-style)
This menu is very cheap and popular in Japan.
You had better compare the menu with Kinomoto family's breakfast menu drawn at CLAMP's Card Captor Sakura. Lecturer Fujitaka Kinomoto is rather rich. His daughter goes to a private elementary school "Tomoeda Shougakkou." The menu is not a Japanese-style.
- AM 7:55 Sendoff (Omiokuri)
- AM 9:21 Studying again (Futatabi Benkyouchu)
Her mother Miyako appeared.
Yukino said to her mother, "Today is a makeup day! Of course, it is a holiday for such students as me that need not a makeup."
Oh! Then Miyako said to herself, "God damn you! Yuki-chan, it is regrettable that you have no room to step in."
- PM 12:45 She went out. (Gaishutsu)
She went to Arima's house. He told her he would stay alone that day. She remebered that suddenly. She began to get into a flap. Her heart beat increased. (Heart beat meter's display) 126, 128, 143, 197, 251, 682...(Are you a rat?????)
- PM 1:32 Arrival at Arima's house (Arima Ke Chaku)
When she arrived there, Arima showered. His atmosphere was different from usual Arima. Yukino began to get into a flap. But when she entered the house, she found Asaba. What? Asaba is a good cook. He is good at Chinese dishes. He cooked Chinese noodles soup with vegetables "Yasai Ramen." However he used a Chinese pan. His method and skill is apparently excellent and traditional. (Common Japanese will not use these techniques.)
But that day was a makeup day. Asaba did not know that. Asaba had to take a makeup. Asaba was ejected.
Yukino went into Arima's private room. There are several long novels dealing with historical events.
Arima and Yukino began to read books. But she often spoke to him. She want him not to ignore her.
He knew it. Then he got lascivous. They kissed eath other. Yukino felt dizzy. She went home.
- PM 6:58 She came back to Miyazawa's house. (Kitaku)
- PM 7:31 Dinner (Yushoku)
- PM 8:29 Bathing (Nyuyoku)
- PM 9:00 Going to the bed, because that day was not in the examination term (Shushin (Test Mae Igai))
Two sisters said, "She is a pupil, isn't she?"
27. Act "0.5" "Sakura No Hayashi no Mankai No Shita" (Under Cherry Grove in Full bloom)
Just after the World War II, Ango Sakaguchi wrote a novel titled "Sakura No Mori No Mankai No Shita (Under Cherry Forest in Full bloom)." But the cartoon is not its parody.
It is a story that Arima met Yukino. In April, he met Yukino. Those days, he used to hear a message from his internal mind. "Do you genuinely enjoy it?"
He felt an atmosphere. He regarded "A Calm" around him as artificial.
Hideaki Anno expressed Arima's feeling using an extraordinery method. The cameraman shot cellophane pictures including his real hands, their movement and clips. As you know, Toei Animation (former Toei Douga) began to film digital anime. For example, "Yugioh" and "Mamotte Shugo Getten!" were made as digital anime. They will not use real hands and cellophane pictures.
He thought he always lived alone.
His feeling was expressed as an isolated utility pole.
He knew Yukino near him chose and selected everything by herself and for herself and that she had her own clear way. Then he met her under cherry grove in full bloom. He fell in love with her.
He said, "Thereafter I met her uncertain true character. But I did not regret it."
