In USA and Europe, the number of EVA fans is increasing more and more because the quality of the works is excellent. But in Japan, the great producer from King Records, Mr. Toshimichi Outsuki and the great director from GAINAX, Mr. Hideaki Anno have said to EVA fans, "Discard EVA! Look at the real world!" But a lot of EVA fans cannot discard EVA.
Hiroshi Kume's News-station broadcast by ANB (TV-Asahi) dealt with school rejection on 08/17/98. In Japan, the number of those who do not want to go to school is incresing year after year. They usually go to a kind of preparatory school or learn from tutors. Some of them cannot trust school teachers and classmates.
They usually look for their own true character.
In Japan, the Wonder Festival was held on 08/09/98 at Tokyo Big Sight. It is the largest event on personal hobbies all over the world. It mainly deals with "Figure" dolls. The average of the price was about 5,000 yen (1 dollar = 146 yen). As you know, Nagoya Papermoon sells life-sized figure dolls after Ayanami Rei. In the event, Papermoon sells life-sized Sakura Kinomoto from Card Captor Sakura.
The price of the figure is over 100,000 yen. But it is very popular. Many fans bought the dolls.
In Japan, there are a lot of alienated young people. They are usually alienated by the local society, schools and work places. They often commit suicide.
They look for their own homeground everyday.
In these twenty years, the alienated young people have found the homeground in the free markets. In the free markets, say, Comike and Worder Festival, they can find their new hobbies.
They can gain their vital power there again.
I cannot explain their hopelessness, either. But I recently received a letter from an EVA fan in USA. He wanted me to acknowledge his EVA homepage. But EVA problems are deep-rooted. I wrote a letter to him.
08/17/1998 Tokyo, Japan
Thank you very much for your letter and your nice homepage!
I read your letter and saw your page.
It was rather heavy. But your page is accurate. Your page includes a lot of selected and popular images. Thay are made by GAINAX, Kadokawa Shoten and Sega Enterprises. Perhaps they are from EVA trading cards.
Now in Japan, EVA fans fight against EVA producers.
EVA producers have said to us, "Look at the real world. Discard EVA."
But we cannot discard EVA, EVA goods and EVA world.
In the ending of the second movie of EVA, Shinji lives. Asuka also lives.
Some fans still blamed GAINAX for the ending at present.
They think that Shinji and all people should die.
Of course it is a non-sense and wrong thought.
But they say to me, "We cannot discard EVA because Shinji and Asuka still live." They say to me, "If Shinji and Asuka die, we can discard EVA."
It is a deep-rooted problem.
If you want to have the deep-rooted relation with EVA fans and GAINAX, you should study EVA stories harder and harder.
Then you can make a clear-cut EVA fan page.
Perhaps it means that over ten pages including your page wait at the Queue.
I went to Comike 54 at Tokyo Big Sight on 08/15/98, 08/16/98 and 08/17/98.
There are still a lot of EVA fans.
Thank you very much for your effort and cooperation.
You need not understand the deep-rooted problem in Japan. It is non-sense.
