I majored in Art while in Junior and Senior High School. Graduated from Marietta Senior High School, May 28, 1972. I completed the Famous Artist School in 3 yrs, graduating April 12, 1973. From 1971 to 1972 I was employed as a veterinaran assistant, 1972 to 1980 I was employed as framing & store manager, at Marj Teague Art Gallery, in Williamstown, WV while continuing my advancement in my own Art Career. I have been a member of the Ohio Arts & Crafts Guild since 1973. In 1978 I was fortunate enough to have a painting published in "The Gallery Section" of "The Creative Ohio" magazine. I have also been a member of "The Marietta Area Arts & Crafts League, from 1973 to 1997, having been past secretary, vice president and president. In 1981 I completed a Beginning Photography course at Washington Technical College. For 13 years I was Show Chairman for the "Art For The Animals Arts & Crafts Show" in which I helped raise money for "The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, also a board member from May 1989 to August 1993. I opened my own Art Gallery And Framing business in 1981 which has continued to grow over the years. My artwork of "Historical Scenes along the Little Muskingum River" was published in 1997 summer edition of "Over The Back Fence" a Southern Ohio's own magazine. The portrait I painted of John Lyons horse Bright Zip was published in the August 1998 edition of John Lyons, "Perfect Horse Magazine".

My Accomplishments


In 1991 I was awarded a certificate from the Ambassadors of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce.

In 1982, I was awarded the "Steubenville Art Association Merit Award".~Award Winning Portrait~

In august of 1993 I was nominated and accepted for a listing and membership in the 1993-94 Who's Who World Wide Book.

My most prestigous awards have been my"National Nature Art Awards" won in 1980, 1985 and again in 1987.~My First National Award Winning Portrait~ ~2nd National Award Winning Portrait~ ~3rd National Award Winning Portrait~

One of my most noted Pet Portraits hang in the famous actress Doris Day's Private Picture Gallery at Carmel, California. My other most noted portrait is the one I had the honor of doing for John Lyons of his horse Zip.

Listed in 1995-96 "Who's Who of American Women."

In 1986 (5) first places, (2) second places and (1) third place awards at the Washington Co Fair, Marietta, Ohio.

1987 I received a first place, a second place and a third place award at the West Virginia Oil & Gas Festival.

In 1997, I was awarded the "Best Of Show"~Award Winning Portrait~at the West Virginia Oil & Gas Festival in Sistersville.

1998 Washington county Fair:  1st place winners are ~"The Perry Homestead"~,  which is a watercolor. "Firecracker" which was a pastel portrait of a yorkshire dog. ~"Hune Bridge"~ which was a pen & Ink drawing. An Acrylic painting of an Eagle on Leather sheild. And I also won a third place award with a turtle shell rattle I made.

  1998 Sistersville Oil & Gas Fest. 1st place was the ~Perry homestead~ watercolor, and Firecracker's portrait for pastels, I won a 2nd place award with the pen & Ink of the ~Hune Bridge~.

  1999 Washington County Fair, 1st place awards are Watercolor of the ~Oil Derrick~ at Sistersville West Va., a portrait of a ~baby goat~ won 1st in the Pastel catagory, Deer by the stream won 1st in watercolor scenes, Little Pigs won 1st in pen & ink drawing, and a watercolor scene of the old time Kentucky Club ad painted on the side of an old barn won second place .

  1999 Sistersville Oil & Gas Fest. The ~baby goat~ portrait won 1st in pastels, the Little pigs pen & ink won3rd.

  2000 Washington County Fair, 1st place winners are the ~two wolves~ on black background in pastels, ~wolf head~ on leather shield in acrylics, Pebbles and Tricky in pen & ink.

  2000 Oil & Gas Fest. 1st place winners was the wolf pastel and a 3rd place for "Pebbles and Tricky" in pen & ink.

In 2001, I received 4 blue ribbons at the Washington County Fair, Marietta, Ohio. Winning Portraits are~Tricky, few hours old~,~Portrait of Sunrock~,~4 horse shield~. Also a Specialty Wood craft, "Welcome Horse" painted like my first horse Smokey Blaze.
