A tribute to WB David C. Espancho
(Immediate Past Master)
With your indulgence, allow me to allot this space to say some of my personal impression about our immediate Past Master by way of my simple tribute for the things he has done
to our Lodge during his term.
WB Dave, as I know him, is a man of few words. He does his talking by doing things and goes out to involve the brethren into action. In other words, he is a leader who leads. Being a Past Master myself, I have observed that this trait is what our brethren appreciates a lot. You summon them, they come.. You assign them tasks, they deliver. You press the panic bottom they answer your call. Joking and borrowing
VW Alan Fernan's words, "pakan-a, dili mabusog, pa-imna, dli mahubog kung imong hilo-an, mokurog lang." With this kind of attitude the brethren of LTP 220 possess, the Worshipful Master need not worry a lot.
In attendance, WB Dave resorted to the wonders of the texting technology. Our brethren and those from other lodges have confessed that they have received no less than 3 text reminders to attend every stated meeting. In out of town representations, he has led them all, with hordes of our brethren joining him. In projects, impact ones were pursued - from the camp site, adopt-a-school, fund rising which contributed substantially for our special funds, the great fellowships involving the sisters and family, yet he a widower. All said it was a fruitful year and I have no doubt that our WM Piciong, my "idolists" off all, will duplicate, if not, do better this year. The plans he has initially presented during our January stated meeting said it all. MABUHAY ANG LTP 220. Mabuhay ka WB Dave!
P.S…. As I write this article, I mourn the loss of a dedicated mason, Bro. Enrico Eblacas, who has been very consistent in attending started meetings of LTP 220 and other lodges. He has become known in sharing valuable information on health and environment during the "has any brother portion". Indeed, a worthy brother and a true mason. Let's pray for the eternal repose of his soul and share some of your blessings financially. The text message I received mentioned that he dropped his working tools in the evening of January 30th.
