Memory Verse

4th Memory Verse

The Holy Bible, New King James Version

Ephesians 4:32

32And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as
God in Christ forgave you.

This verse tells us how we should as Christians react toward other people, we should be kind, tender is a word which means soft, so tender-hearted is like being soft-hearted, that is how we should be toward others.  We should forgive each other, why because God has forgiven us though the work of Jesus on the Cross.

3rd Memory Verse

Passing on the torch.

Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about (surrounded ) with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

This simply means if we continue to sin we will have difficulty living like Christians should.  We need to be patient and hang in there to finish the race.  If we sin we will have an extra burden (weight) to carry in our lives so we need to ask Jesus to forgive us our sins, if we sin.  We need to decide to follow Him in our daily lives.  Jesus continued in his race, which meant he had to endure  the cross of Calvary, he kept going even when the times were tough.

2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

But now Jesus has finished the race, finished the work, and is now sitting down at the right hand of the throne of God.  What a wonderful Saviour we have! The best part is that he took the punishment for our sins.

2nd Memory verse

Psalm 23:1 (Living Bible) Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need!

This simply means that if you put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Good Shepherd you will have everything you will need.  He will supply all your needs now, like food and things.  He has also met our need as to our salvation as well, that means if we realize we are a sinner and we need someone to remove our sin, Jesus will and can do that for us too.  How can he do this?  He died on the Cross and shed his blood to wash our sins away.  He has made sure there is a place in heaven for us when we need it.  So we can say `I have every thing I need.' He his my Shepherd, is he yours?

1st Memory verse

John 11:35 "Jesus wept"

This is the shortest bible verse, so I think you should be able to remember it, what do you think!

Jesus knew what it was to be very sad, just like we do.  Jesus had a friend who died.  The man's name was Lazarus, he became sick and the man's sisters (Mary & Martha) called Jesus, but Jesus was a long way away.  The man had died by the time he came.  When Jesus saw that Lazarus had died, "Jesus wept". This tells us that Jesus understands us when we are very sad.  If you are sad and you have a problem, just pray and ask Jesus to help you. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, this was one of the miraculous things Jesus did.

What do most Christian Churches have?

Put your mouse over the picture and find out!

If Jesus had not died on the Cross, there would not be any Christian Churches

If Jesus had not risen from the dead, we would have no hope of going to heaven.

Jesus said; John 14: 2-3:"In my Father's house are many mansions (rooms): if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto my self; that where I am, there you may be also. KJV
