GOD'S LOVE
The Cross is a symbol of Gods love toward us.
God sent his only Son to die on the Cross so that we could be brought back into a close relationship with him.
Jesus paid the cost of our sins, the bible tells us that the person who sins must die.
The following quotations are from the King James Version of the Holy Bible
Ezekiel 18:4 ..the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
So we ask the question; Who has sinned?
The bible tells us the answer to that question in this verse
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:10
And again in the same book
"For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." Romans 3:10
This means that both you and I are sinners and have not measured up to Gods' standard, that is what is meant by being "short of Gods' glory"
"For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
We needed someone to take our punishment. How do you think God did this? How did God makes this possible?
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Isn't that great, God though the giving of his son to die in our place has given us this wonderful gift of eternal life.
"Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures" 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
We can not have it any plainer than that can we, that, "Christ died for our sins." This means that Jesus has paid the price for our sins, he died, but he is no longer in death but he is alive, he rose from the dead on the third day, and now is seated on the right hand of God in heaven.
There is no other way to be saved but though Jesus.
"Jesus said onto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
You might be saying I'm too young to come to Jesus, but he has told us in the bible that the children can come to him too.
"Jesus said, Suffer (let) the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for such is the kingdom of God."
Perhaps you are wondering what can I do to be saved from my sins. the bible tells us very clearly that there is a way.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" Acts16:31
"But as many as received him, to them he gave the power to become the sons (children) of God. even to them that believe on his name." John 1:2
If I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, will he come into my heart? Yes!
"Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man (boy or girl) hears my voice, and opens the door. I will come in to him and sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20
Jesus is knocking on my heart and your heart today. Do you want to let Him in? If you do, there is a simple way, just open your hearts door to Him, but you say; how can I do that I don't know how. Pray to Jesus and ask him to forgive you for your sins, and thank him for dieing on the cross for your sins. If you don't know how to pray, here is a sample prayer.
Sample Prayer.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, I know that you died for my sins, I confess my sins now and ask you to forgive them, come into my heart right now and put my sins under the blood that you shed, be my Lord and Saviour. Amen.
Make a note of this date in your Bible, and tell someone about what you have done.
What will I do if I sin after I receive Jesus as my Saviour? Pray to Jesus and tell him, and ask him to forgive you. There is a verse in the Bible that tells us that.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Jesus wants us to learn more about him, he tells us that .
"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18
How can I show other people that I am a Christian and that I have Jesus in my heart? You know the Bible has an answer to all our questions.
"And be kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you" Ephesians 4:32
This is how people will know.
