They believe...be sensible
prepare now
save for the future
work hard while young
enjoy when old
no pain no gain
They believe...compromise
follow the crowd
stay within the lines
keep your head clear
keep your eyes straight
feet on the ground
What about now! what about roses? what about stars?
what about chasing rainbows, floating clouds, butterflies...
what about silver linings, serendipity, spontaneity...
what about moonbeams, sun-rays, raindrops?
I believe...
I believe I can cut my own pathway
I believe I can stop off the edge and not fall
I believe I can close my eyes and follow my heart and soul
I believe I can walk in the rain and not get wet
I believe in today and have hope for tomorrow
I believe in dreams, I believe in me...
I believe I can fly!

Oh butterfly where do you go,
when the sunset itself does show?

I see you quite frequently
when the sun shines overhead,
But where are you when I am put to bed?

The days are long,
the sun is strong.

Still then I see you flutter,
with wings as soft as butter.

Yet when shines the moon,
why am I alone?

I hear not soft wings
beating upon my windowsill,
nor do I see your pupae
upon the miller's mill.

Where do you go at night
when the stars are shining bright?

In the daytime I see you flutter
'round and 'round,
from the sky to the ground.

Oh butterfly where do you go,
when the sunset itself does show?

~~Heather Scott

The butterfly has so many beautiful features.
Fragile, yet powerful wings adorn these creatures.
They look like angels from the heavens above,
A gift to fill our hearts with warmth and love.
In all their splendor and strife,
They are the symbol or new beginnings and life.
Gliding so delicately on the breeze,
taking but a moment to dance with the leaves.
They stop to rest on a flower or two,
to get one last drink of the morning dew.
To see them fly through the air with
all their pride and glory,
it seems like their life is a fantasy
or a charming story.
If I had one wish of something I could try,
it would be to be free and fly like a butterfly.

~~Morgan Bretz

You flutter little butterfly
So quietly through the sky
Into my life you have flown
For reasons I know not why

You dart in and out
Teasing as you go
Silently testing
For what, I don't know

Softly you linger
On a pedal in my heart
Gently steps are taken
Sprinkling dust as you depart

You bring with you a melody
With enchantment your song is sung
Brightening the hearts of others
Nothing touched left undone

You flutter little butterfly
And your beauty is seen by all
Soothing gentle caresses
Responding to natures call

Flutter butterfly off in the wind
Your destiny is in your sight
Spread your wings and go
Fly off into the night

"by Dale Whipple"

A candle that burns, flickers its
A lingering moment, is lost into
the night
The sweet scent of a fragrant
How quickly it comes but slowly
it goes
Searching, finding, not knowing
Relying on wisdom, long ago
The mystery of life, is time at a
Toil along slowly, taking time for
a dance
Sunrise, sunset, daytime or night
Fly little butterfly on your fantasy
of flight

"by Dale Whipple"

You are the most beautiful thing
I've ever seen
You shine just like sunlight rays
On a winter snow
I just had to tell you so

Your eyes sparkle as the stars
Like the moon they glow
Your smile could light the world on fire
Or did you know?

Your minds full of everything
That I want to know
I just had to let you know
I just had to tell you so
You're my butterfly
Fly high
Fly fly fly

~~Lenny Kravitz

A butterfly hovers closely
And then quickly moves away,
Swiftly going where so ever
Her heart may freely say.

A butterfly lowers and rises
With the winds's gusty breath,
As if coupled within a dance
Of a loving tenderness.

The butterfly only knows
How it feels to have wings,
To kiss the petals of flowers
In such elegant flitterings.

To have but one moment
Of such an exquisite flight,
Would be like a dream
Where all seems so right.

Butterflies go fluttering by
On colored wings that catch the eye.
On wings of orange, and silvery blue,
On wings of golden yellow, too.
Butterflies float in the air,
Making their homes most anywhere:
The rainforest, field, and prairie land,
On mountaintops, and desert sand.
If winter brings the cold and snow,
To warmer climates, off they go!
Returning home the following spring,
Beautiful butterflies on the wing!

A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam...
and for a brief moment it's glory
and beauty belong to our world...
but then it flies on again, and although
we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all.

Flutter by,
Floating flower
in the sky.
Kiss me with your
Petal wings---
Whisper secrets,
Tell of spring.
