Marriage Index from the Barrhead Leader Vol. 1 1928-1949

This book is an alphabetical index of marriages from the Barrhead Leader (or Barrhead News) from the years 1928 to 1949 inclusive. There are approximately 700 marriages. It includes the groom's and bride's surname, given name, parents names (when given), and residences. As well as the date of marriage, date of newspaper and place of marriage.

Part 1 is arranged in alphabetical order by groom's surname and Part 2 is alphabetical by bride's surname. Some anniversaries are also included in this index. In most cases there was a detailed write-up in the newspaper, however some were only an announcement in the local news giving very little detail. Some give the day of the week the marriage took place such as Saturday afternoon, rather than an exact date.
