GENEALOGY AND FAMILY HISTORY

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS ADDED TO MY MORGAN AND MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA PAGES!

If you've visited before, please note that I have worked on reducing the file size so that the photos download more quickly. (Live & Learn!!! :) )

If you would like to see the page dedicated to the search for my long lost brother, Edwin S. Williams II, click here!

I'm researching my family names in MADISON and MORGAN COUNTIES, ALABAMA of LEEMAN (LEEMON or LAMON), SKILLINGTON, RANSOM, MERRITT, McGLATHERY, OLIVER, ARNOLD, McCLANAHAN and possibly COOK. I am specifically searching for information on my 4xGreat Grandmother, ELIZABETH COOK, who was Cherokee, according to research. She was born in either North Carolina or in Wilson County, Tennessee (at that time these areas were in the same geographic grouping), and married William Leeman. They migrated to Madison County, Alabama by 1818.

For WILCOX COUNTY, ALABAMA my main family lines are: ALBRITTON, McCONDICHIE, WILLIAMS, WATSON, MOORE, GULLEY, LEE, McWHORTER, and PURIFOY, to mention a few. These families migrated at some point to Alabama in the 1800's, mostly from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia or Tennessee. I have lots of information (on most of these lines), but I am always looking for more. Glad to share what I have--contact me if you think there may be a connection!

PLEASE NOTE: I will add transcribed Wills, as I get a chance, so please check my Wilcox page if you're looking for those--there will be a link on that page for each one. I have also added a page for my Furman and Snow Hill, Alabama family PHOTOGRAPHS, there, as well. Please check out the photos -- maybe you can identify some of these "mystery relatives!"
