Math in Space Technology

Equipment Received

TI-83 Graphing Calculators: In addition to the uses described in the lessons, we will use these calculators to train students to utilize them on the state-mandated tests.

Web Video Cameras: We will use these to record students as they are engaged in various project activities.

CD-ROM Writers: We will use these to record results of various projects. We also anticipate using them to make the entire project available to other teachers.

Mimio Boards: We will use these to "capture" lessons from the project. This will allow students to review the classroom presentation or to see what was covered during an absence.

Digital Video Camera: We will use this to record students as they are engaged in various project activities.

Overhead Calculator: This will be utilized to train students in proper use of the calculators.

Equipment Ordered But Not Received

Palm Pilot Handheld Computers: These will be used for data collection and manipulation.

Cruncher: This will be used to introduce elementary students to spreadsheets.

Graphers: This will be used to introduce elementary students to graphing.

Front Page: We will use it to teach students to create web pages, particularly of project-related topics.

Inspiration: Students will use this software for creative problem-solving related to the project activities.

Green Globs & Graphing Equations: This software will used to introduce high school students to computer graphing.

TI GraphLink Software: This software will link the graphing calculators to each other and to computers.

Calculator-Based Laboratory: These will be used for data capture.

Calculator-Based Ranger: These will be used for data capture.
