About this Site

To promote the science of astronomy for the Victoria Area by:
fostering astronomical education
providing guidance and incentives for astronomical observation
assisting communication among local amateur astronomers

The Crossroads Astronomy Club meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the Univ
ersity of Houston-Victoria. CAC holds public starparties at Riverside Park in Victoria, Lake Texana State Park, and Coleto Creek Reservoir and Park, along with private starparties for schools and youth groups. Monthly club starparties are held (weather permitting) at K.B. and Janet Hallmark's Loblolly Ranch near Nursery, Texas, at city and state parks, and at other facilities. Contact K.B. or Janet Hallmark, 361.648.0089, for more information.
Crossroads Astronomy Club is an member of the Astronomical League, and several of our club members have earned certificates from the League's many Observing Clubs.
Our members include school students, retirees and persons in between. Some members are beginners, and some are "expert" amateurs. But all love to observe and learn about astronomy.
Regular attendance is not mandatory, nor is astronomical equipment. Membership also includes automatic membership in the national Astronomical League, and newsletters from both organizations.
