Kaoru is a strong-minded, spunky young woman who runs a kenjutsu dojo. As adjutant master of Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu, she fights for her motto: the sword that protects people. Even though she knows that Kenshin is Hitokiri Battousai, she accepts his past and invites him to stay at the dojo. She gets mad at Kenshin a lot and whacks him all the time, but we all know that she really loves him. ^.^  
(Kaho's running commentary:) Wah! Kaoru! I really can't say enough to justify the supercool heroine of my favorite series. ^_^ Besides being an awesome female fighter, she's a very kind, warm-hearted, and loving person, that makes her so wonderful. She also has wisdom and a kind of pureness about her that I love. When I think of her, I get a mental picture of warm sunshine on a spring day, cherry blossoms floating in the wind, or fresh snow falling. That's the kind of person she is. If anyone deserved Kenshin, Kaoru does really.
