Instantly I fell in love with the Bestop Sailcloth. The claim of being 50% quiter seemed impossible but I wanted to believe so bad.
I found out that Jeeps manufactured 2003 and up already had sailcloth tops installed on them from the factory. So I went to my local dealship and test drove a 2003 Jeep with a soft top to see what the noise reduction was like.
It was great, I was very impressed how quite it was. I was sold, I talked to the dealer and found out a factory sailcloth top was $900.00. Bestop had them online for as low as $650.00. I decided to buy the Bestop one to save a bit of money.
Overall it is much better than my old top but not as quite as that new Jeep I test drove. Not sure what the difference is. I found the top is very quite but the rear windows are no better and often flap violently is cross winds.
