Arkansas |

Our first trip in the Jeep was to Hot Springs. A short 8 hour trip from Houston.
Dog and gear in the back we headed out. On this trip we discovered
the Jeep interior could be a bit quieter if you switch the a/c off of recirculate.
The dog slobbed up the windows but, was very excited to go on vacation.
A whole new aspect of Jeeping is the security offered by a convertible
vehicle. There basically is none so you better be prepared for that. |
On this trip we just took a few things and didn't leave anything alone. It
turned out OK. Another Jeep Rule: If you have a soft top don't lock the doors. Would be theives will cut your top to get in. The lockable factory storage compartment in the front is crappy. Almost every used Jeep I have looked at it has been broken into. Once again leave it open or invest in some Tuffy security products for your Jeep. |
Here we are enjoying one of the many great views around the town of Hot Springs.
Hot Springs claims to be the home of Bill Clinton, but other than that it
is OK. The CCC, a work project from the dirty thirties did lots of work
in the area. Many of the park areas and roads in this hilly area are some
of the nicest I have ever seen. |
Arkansas seemed to be hotter than Texas, you will have plenty of opportunities to
take the top off and enjoy yourself. I never knew it at the time but, Super Lift has an ORV park near Hot Springs. We are planning a trip back soon to do some off roading. |
