Lawmoss
(Lawseyn x Lawsouma)
Foundation Sire and Beloved Friend...
1972 - 1998
Bred by Laws Arabians , Williamsburg, KS, he became the Foundation Sire for Provin's Promises, Dodd City, TX.

LAWMOSS was one of the very few pure Kellogg Arabians left. He carried on the tradition of the Kellogg horses *Nasik and Farana, and stamped his foals with that special "look".

A beautiful copper bay similiar to *Nasik, LAWMOSS was also the kindest of horses, in addition to being beautiful and correct. He had a sense of humor, and was referred to as a "Jokester" by friends who knew him. You couldn't say he had "pizzazz" as he didn't care to waste his energy for the most part, but when he "went" he preferred a gallop over trotting.

LAWMOSS spent most of his life running with his mares, and was a good papa who loved to play with his foals. His offspring have his wonderful temperament and most appear as "peas in a pod" with their uniformity in appearance and quality, with ground-eating long, smooth strides and free shoulder movement. He was truly a pre-potent sire.

LAWMOSS was never campaigned, and basically was just a backyard horse and my personal friend until late in his life, when his true value was realized. At that time, every effort was made to establish a nucleus of sons and daughters for the future.

Provin's Promises will go forward with his sons and daughters in an "in/line"-breeding program to preserve the LAWMOSS type.  The first foals from this program are everything hoped for, and the future is very bright!
