Horrorscope part one

Buffy Summers wondered if what she could see was real. There was a long grassy bank in front of her, the green grass was swaying in the wind around her ankles making them itch slightly. She deeply inhaled the fresh breeze as it passed under her nose. The whole scene looked real enough but there was something wrong. She started to walk over to the river, where it was usually clear spring water it had developed a tint. The river was running red. Of course it could have been put down to the loose bedrock being picked up but it seemed so thick. Kneeling down to get a better look at the water Buffy caught her own reflection. Her blonde hair looked scruffier than usual but she didn't mind too much given that she had just run seven miles to get to the river. Blood, there was no other explanation, it was definitely the right colour but she wanted to be sure before she called out a crisis. Lying down she pulled herself up and over edge and took a long sniff at the oddly coloured substance. As she lifted herself back away the hair on the back of her neck started to rise. Before she could turn herself all the way around pain started to sear in her ear. A man, or to be politically correct, a demon disguised as a man had kicked her to the back of the neck. He seemed to have more than two legs, repeatedly kicking her he moved forwards pushing her further and further towards the water. She struggled to fight back but any retaliation was shot down immediately. With one last effort he had her in the water, she only managed to hold her breath for a short while as her lungs felt like they were imploding, she kept struggling until it was too much, until all the air had completely left her body until......she woke up.

"OK, Giles, you tell me what this means."
"Well, drowning in blood, thats a new one."
"Tell me about it, now I have to worry about how badly my hair looks everytime I go near a river, which wasn't the main part of the dream, but I consider quite important."
"Maybe, washing you hair in blood would add nutrients to it vital for more-manageable hair." Xander looked embarrassed as the group shot him evils. "Well the dreams are supposed to be prophetic."
"Yes but...." Willow was cut of by the shrill ring of the bell.  The group got up ready for their next lessons.

Willow caught up with Buffy on the way to the next lesson hoping to cheer her long time friend up.
“Hey, you know not all of your dreams are prophetic don’t you?” She questioned showing off her best smile.
“Well duh, how long have I been doing this?”
“I’m sorry but remember that dream you had about me being eaten by a giant mutated hamster?”
“OK so that one was a dud but it just felt so real last night as if I really was drowning.”
“Ah, poor Buff.”
“I think I might worry too much nowadays with everything thats been going on I just think maybe I’ve got away cleanly too many times and that all the good luck will run out.”
“Oh I have go to now, I’ll catch you later? At the party?” She ran off in the direction of her teen wolf where he was chatting to Devon.
“Willow...” Buffy called after her, “What party?”
“You know the surprise party at The bronze for.....OH...” Willow flushed red, “I just meant the normal party thing at the bronze, we always party there every night for the last three years actually.”
“OK, I’ll see you there at eight then.”
“Its OK me and Oz will pick up for the NORMAL party thing. OK then I’m going to run now.”
Buffy walked away quickly. “Note to self, Willow unstable.”

After searching around in her wardrobe for forty five minutes Buffy eventually settled on wearing the little purple dress with a black lace cardigan type thing around her shoulders, after all if there was going to be something new happening tonight that was for good and not evil for once she wanted to look her best. By habit she slipped Mr. Pointy in one of her black boots just in case anything did happen. After applying a little make up in the form of eyeliner and lip gloss she admired the finished Buffy in the mirror.
“Buffy darling.”
“Yeah mom!” She called back down the stairs.
“Willow and Oz are here now.” Buffy glanced out the window and saw Oz sitting in the drivers seat of his stripy van admiring the stars, noticing her he cheerfully waved up at the window, she responded with a quick flicker and then jumped out of her room and bounded down the stairs.
“Hey there Will, you look really nice tonight.” Buffy commented on Willow’s obviously new sparkly black dress, no wonder Oz looked so happy tonight. “Well shall we go then?”
“Erm, can I use your phone? Its quite important.”
“Yeah you know where it is.”
Willow walked off in the direction of the summer’s phone. “Its OK, you can stay there.”
Buffy looked down at her feet pretending to be hurt. “You know what I mean, its kind of private. You’ll find out soon anyway!” Excitedly she leapt into the living room.
“Whats Willow so happy about?” Mrs. Summers asked.
“I really have no idea, shes been acting a bit secretive recently.”
As a slayer not only was her strength heightened but also her sense of curiosity so she stealthily crept into the hall behind the door to the living room out of Willow’s sight. “So hes definitely there already then...OK...Yeah she looks lovely...” Buffy smiled, “Whats he wearing?...Nice...I can’t wait it will be so nice to see everyone...Bye then...bye.”
Buffy swiftly maneuvered back into the hall as she heard the click of the phone being hung up. Willow followed her beaming from ear to ear. “OK then lets go.”

Buffy looked around for anything different at The Bronze trying not to look so obvious to Willow who was blatantly gazing at her. As they walked in she thought she saw a slightly familiar car but wasn’t too sure. As they walked in she noticed it was slightly darker than usual a band called K’s choice were on stage performing and she really liked the song. “Come on then.” She gestured to Oz and Willow to sit with her on one of the comfy cars laid out nearish the bar where Xander was already perched trying to look interested as Anya told him about how she castrated a pirate in 1573.
During the middle of their conversation the hair on the back of her neck started to rise and she looked around to see if there were any new vamps. There weren’t.
“Don’t look around so much you might see... I mean get neck cramp, yeah you could really hurt yourself.”
Just as Willow had spoken she felt a large cold pair of hands come over her eyes as someone stood behind her. Buffy already knew who it was before he spoke. “Guess who.”
“Angel.” She spoke his name softly and slowly letting the word melt between her lips. “You’ve returned.”
