Guess who this is :)
She's here! Click HERE to read all about it.We've created a Baby Poll at ExpectNet.com and you're welcome to join in the fun. The name of the game is BabyKesteson03 (yes, I spelled it wrong). The more, the merrier :) You just guess what you think the baby's sex, weight and birthday will be. There's an overwhelming feeling amongst those already playing that it's a girl... can YOU see anything up in that picture to give you that idea???
I'll try to keep this page updated with any news that we might get regarding Baby Bertha, as well as any potential names, etc. Names are always a source of contention with us, so it might be a LONG time before we find one we BOTH agree on. If you have any ideas for a name for either boy or girl that 1) isn't on the top 20 list of popular baby names and 2) won't get the kid teased for life, please feel free to email us below.
November/December, 2002: As promised, here's an update about the baby. I'd been having a numbness in my leg and arm, and my doctor thinks I may have a herniated disc in my neck and another in my lower back. Because I'm pregnant, there's not much they can do for it except send me to physical therapy, which I started this week. That consists of strengthening exercises. Fun... NOT. At that same appt, she also let me know that I've got gestational diabetes (again), so I have to check my blood sugar levels 4 times a day and have to limit my carb intake MAJORLY. I've been doing a good job, though, so I'm hopeful that I won't have to go on insulin injections :(
January, 2003! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wow... it's amazing how fast the time has flown. I'm now nearly 6 months pregnant, and still losing weight. Isn't THAT a kick in the pants? LOL We go for our "genetic counseling" on the 31st of December.. This is basically where they tell me because of my 'advanced maternal age' that I'm at a greater risk for birth defects. We also get a "high level" ultrasound, so I'm psyched. We finally get to see the baby after nearly 3 months. I'll post results when we get them :)
Update: We finally got to the ultrasound and everything is fine! The baby weighs 1 lb 6 oz right now at 24 weeks, which they tell us is right on target. None of the markers that they look for to indicate any birth defects were there, and so we're confident that the baby's fine. I also went to my prenatal appt yesterday, after having contractions for 3 days. I was afraid they'd put me on bedrest, but he took me off full time work instead. So now, I can only work 4 hours a day or 20 a week... don't know how we're going to manage that, but I guess we will. I've posted the new ultrasound pictures if anyone would like to see what Baby Kesterson is looking like these days :)
Spring, 2003 Wow, I guess I've slacked off in updating the site. It's been a pretty uneventful few weeks, thankfully! My back has continued to object to having a baby on it all the time, but otherwise, my sugars are within range, I'm officially 37 weeks and we're getting ready. My baby shower was a blast in March. My sister, Heather, my mom and my sister in law, Kathy, throw a great party. I was so happy to see my friends and family after such a lonnnnnng winter (which apparently won't be ending this year!). I plan on getting the film developed and pictures posted today, so I'll put those up when they're ready. We've officially got 3 weeks left, but my original due date was April 12th, which is just 6 days away! So I've gotten the basinette together and ready, just in case. We have to move out of our apartment this month (or face a $50 rent increase and 6 month lease renewal (GRRRR), so it'll be a busy month! In any case, my next update should be a big one! (Well, hopefully around 7 lbs anyways LOL). Hugs for now.Thank you for visiting our Baby page and we hope you'll come back soon! *hugs* Dawn, Jimmy & Anthony. Please sign our guestbook to let us know you were here :)
