Fletcher Dark Photography
photographs by Charles Thomas
These pics are double exposures. The first exposure was of the glass dolphin in front of a black felt background. I've found black felt to be the most non-reflective background. The dolphin statue is illuminated from below by a flash-light covered with a blue gel. To get the exposure of the dolphin I aimed my camera at it closely so that the dolphin filled most of the frame and got a "TTL" center-weighted meter of it. The second exposure was of the background alone with 2 different Cokin star filters. So, why didn't I do them in one exposure? The star filters reduce the quality of the dolphins image.
