PAYMENT OPTIONS
Thanks for your interest in my brochure collection.
ORDERS FROM OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA
There are five payment methods available:
1. Cash (notes only, no coins)
in American, Australian, British, Canadian, Euro, New Zealand or Swiss currency at the appropriate rate. (Currency Converter) Cash must be sent by registered mail though, because of the security registered mail offers. (US registered mail costs about $9 in 2003, but takes 2 weeks or so to progress through the mail system.) I must sign for registered mail. If it's illegal in your country to mail cash, then you need to choose another option. If you choose, as some have, to send cash by unregistered mail (that's regular air mail) your payment arrives here in about a week (usually). But I do not accept responsibility for it's safe arrival.
2. Bank draft (available from any bank, worldwide).
Costs can vary from bank to bank, so check for the best rate and fee. (US customers can expect to pay a fee of about $20 to provide a bank draft.) Your bank will prepare the bank draft in Australian dollars and will draw it against an Australian bank, which means you pay your bank in your currency and I receive payment in my currency. This is the most secure way to pay for your order, but it's expensive.
Please note: You MUST nominate the Australian dollar amount when you buy a bank draft and because of the exchange rate variances different banks use, you should expect your currency amount to vary than the figure I quote you.
3. Western Union Money Transfer
Click for their website to check agent's location
This is an expensive option, but it's quick. (US customers can expect to pay a fee of about $20 to provide a money transfer.) If there's an Agent near you, then you simply roll up and complete a short form and the Agent attends the transaction for you by making the currency conversion and sends it for you. The costs are payable at your end. It arrives at my Agent's location almost straight away. If you use this option, you'll need to know my local agent's location, which is "Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia". Between you and the Agent at your end, you'll devise a "password" which I need to know to receive your payment. I, also, need to know the transaction number.
Please note: You MUST nominate the Australian dollar amount when you send a money transfer and because of the exchange rate Western Union use, which seems to always be less than the rate other service providers use (in my experience), you should expect your currency amount to vary than the figure I quote you.
4. MoneyGram Money Transfer
Click for their website to check agent's location
This is another option, but I am yet to experience it. It works like Western Union's Money Transfer. I have no idea of the fees payable. It may be worth checking if there is an Agent near you (they're USA based, but operate worldwide). If there's an Agent near you, then you simply roll up and complete a short form and the Agent attends the transaction for you by making the currency conversion and sends it for you. The costs are payable at your end. It arrives at my Agent's location almost straight away. If you use this option, you'll need to know my local agent's location, which is "Charlestown, Australia".
Please note: You MUST nominate the Australian dollar amount when you send a money transfer and because of the exchange rate variances with different service providers, you should expect your currency amount to vary than the figure I quote you.
5. Bank transfer
You're welcome to "wire" your payment, but this is expensive, of course. If you choose this option, I'll advise my account details by e-mail. This option is not available for residents of Switzerland.
I am unable to accept foreign cheques (checks) due to the unreasonable amount of time it takes to obtain "clear" funds (up to 3 months!) and, also, due to the bank fees for processing foreign cheques (can be up to $US40 for USD cheques). Unfortunately, I cannot accept foreign money orders, as they cannot be "cashed" in Australia (even international money orders cannot be cashed in Australia).
Because I'm a collector who is selling up, rather than a commercial enterprise, I have no facilities for credit card payments. Besides that, I don't believe it's a good idea to reveal credit card details on the world wide web.
DELIVERY FOR FOREIGN ORDERS
For cash payments, money transfer payments and "wire" transfer payments, orders are mailed within 1 working day of receiving your payment.
For bank drafts, orders are mailed 1 week after receiving your payment, which is when the funds are "clear". You'll receive your order approximately 7 or 8 days after I mail it.
ORDERS FROM AUSTRALIA
For Australian delivery, there are several ways to make payment:
1. Cash (Australian currency, or others as listed above) (Cash should be sent registered mail)
2.
Money Order payable to "Stephen Walker".
Money order must be sourced from Australia Post though (not overseas).
3. Cheque (drawn on any Australian bank) payable to "Stephen Walker". (No third party cheques, please)
4. Direct deposit to my building society account. I'll let you know the account details, if this option is chosen.
DELIVERY FOR AUSTRALIAN ORDERS
For cash or money order payments, orders are mailed within 1 working day of receiving your payment.
For cheques and direct deposits, orders are mailed 4 working days after receiving your payment, which is when the funds are "clear".
PACKAGING
As a very serious collector of brochures, I suspect you know how I would want my brochures shipped. I ship them to you, as though I was shipping to myself! All orders are protected by cardboard. Foreign orders are sent by air mail with appropriate insurance cover or registered. Australian orders are also registered or insured, but may be sent air and/or surface.
Kindly E-MAIL ME with your order or your enquiry.
