A website focused on the toy line: Zoids, the series Zoids Chaotic Century, Guardian Force, and New Century Zero, with some information on the video game Zoids: Legacy, several personality quizzes, and an assortment of other things miscellaneous. Updates: april 2010: who knew my habit of sticking half finished content on cd would be so useful in the future. zoid empire has many small site updates composed mostly of fixes this time that i've been altering the last month and a half, although i've taken some pages down until i can find their most recently updated versions i've also uploaded some new ones that are now complete. Jan 2010: been a while since an update but getting the bare bones of the site moved over as fast as i did back in august was about the best i could do at that time. there was a lot of content that needed a few alterations that i just couldn't manage back then but along with a lot i found on cd and computer, has finally caught up with the rest of zoid empire. in the last update i mentioned the inuyasha part of the site as being fully linked, and while it's mostly done there are a few pages i need some help getting ready before they're fully online as my health and computer just aren't up to it right now. those of you who like the personality quizzes on here would've noticed we're down to two as the other two [which member of the alka valino gang are you, and are you a zoids fan] were hosted and made on selectsmart or one of those free quiz sites by celticzoid. i don't know if selectsmart deletes the quizzes after a while or if celtic zoid deleted them but they were gone at least a few months before the main site shifted and i had no backups of them. although, with this batch of updates the new century zero zoids quiz is finally complete as i found i had completed it a while ago but forgot to upload it [oops], a lot of zoid toy reviews were also lurking about not uploaded and they've been added too, along with pictures. there's more content to come but for now it's anyone's guess as to when it'll be uploaded ;] happy 2010 everyone. August 2009: Zoid Empire has obviously moved again, lost some dead links on the way [including, sadly, zoid empire's first affiliate, the sphynx adoption center] and picked up some content that was found lurking unlinked or sneaking about in backups. bigpond, zoid empire's home for over seven years, has decided to shift to a pay only webhosting and blog system so zoid empire was out of a home until the fold of geocities brought the free webspace on webring to my attention. hopefully the stay on webring will be longer and much happier for zoid empire; there's now 50mb to play with rather than the highly restricting boundary of 10mb that the site was always reaching, and so far the new host seems much more accessable and better to use. may a long stay and a lot of updates feature in zoid empire's future. please excuse my typing, my health is fairly much the same, sorry to say, so once the move and updates are done there probably won't be any for some time. huge thanks goes out to dys and kaz for offering and helping with the move/coding altering. for the same reason the forum of zoid empire has been closed indefinitely and the posts deleted. thanks to those of you that sent emails when you found out how things were, though replying to anything for a while hasn't been easily, it's really appreciated. thanks to those of you that did try and support the forum while it was around as well. updates this time round include a properly linked access inuyasha rpg archive, the addition to the main site of the avatars from the forum, and a few tweaks here and there along with some banners. a lot of the side links have vanished as they were dead or no longer important to the site, but when things heal there are definitely plans to build up zoid empire content once more. it's doubtful the fanfiction section will ever return as no one sent me their fanfics and my enthusiasm for writing zoids fanfiction is long gone. the character bios has also been removed, for although there are plans for adding some info about the zoids series to the site some day, what that will be isn't decided and it will be a long time coming. in the future there may also be a guestbook so you guys can drop me some feedback or a quick note. September 2007: Nasty year. Anyway, we have some updates! Nothing too exciting, mostly site clearing up, pruning of dead links, etc. I've added a new site or two in the Links page as well as removing a few extinct links. Check out JustManga.com, excellent online store if you're into Anime or Manga, no zoids but they've got pretty much everything else covered, and I can't say enough about their customer service. In other news, I've just been rearranging things, fixing up some old errors and working on finishing ye olde personality quiz. Still a lot of work to go on that. May 2007: Scary, the last updates were almost a year ago. About June I was kidnapped by study for the rest of the year, then in november my computer died. I got a new computer in april after an insane amount of hassle, and then I injured my right arm, which is still healing and in a sling. Add to that - the new computer has vista, so even getting the FTP to work has been difficult. Cheap kind of update this time, basically just a lot of writing and no content. I do have content planned ;) and will be working on the site in general on a page by page basis, as looking around I see a lot of extinct links (and the counter died! Argh!), some debris still remaining from the move, and just a general need of site reworking. Updates will generally be slow coming until my arm heals and I tame vista to a greater degree but I will be working on the site when possible. June 2006: A few notes on Zoids Genesis and some site updates. So far I've only watched one episode. The series itself seems to take place after planet wide natural disasters have returned the civilizations of planet Zi to a more primitive state. Zoids and such level technology is seen as having come from the ancestors, and that's about all I know currently :) So far it looks like an interesting series. To celebrate, the forum now has three Zoids Genesis Avatars, as well as many new Chaotic Century, Guardian Force and New Century avatars that should hopefully give forum members a bit more choice :) Toy reviews for the Gustav and Sledge head/hammer head Zoids have been completed and I'm working on others... Completed the Command Wolf AC action figure toy review, and uploaded two new pieces of Fan art. One I did earlier in the year but never got around to uploading, and another that I've been wanting to draw since before the start of the year but was unable :) Happy belated Year of the Dog (No, not planning to do this every year) or Year of the Konig Wolf ;) I could've drawn the command wolf also, but for some reason I wanted to draw a Konig Wolf. This is also my first attempt at making a slightly chibi Zoid ;) Toy Reviews for Command Wolf Irvine and the Gun Tiger are complete also. February 2006 update 2: It's also come to my attention that a new Zoids series has appeared, Zoids Genesis. Though I have no idea which countries this will air in I hope it'll bring added interest in Zoids and a continuation of the toy line. With some luck it'll even be a good series :) though I'm not holding my breath. Though I intended not to be overly elitist towards series I favoured when I started this site, I must admit that was before Zoids Fuzors came out. It's unlikely I'll ever have much content for that show as I didn't like it enough to wake up at some unearthly hour to watch it, so still don't know much about it. The same will hold for Zoids Genesis if it ever comes out here. Priority are the series I actually have tapes of and info on :) February 2006 update: Just a small update, another review, this time for the only customizable part set I own, CP-14 :) a blade and shield attachment for the command wolf and hammer head zoids. Also added a new piece of fan art featuring the first Zoid I've drawn. January 2006 Update 02: Wow! Another update! Surely two updates, rare events, so close together are a sign that the two moons of Zi will crash into each other and spiral into the planet! ...Or maybe I just decided to update and am feeling productive :) Several of the toy reviews now have pictures of the Zoids as well (pictures of my own Zoids :P). Previously Liger Zero was the only one with an image, owing to a photo I took of it. Now that I have a digital camera, batteries permitting I can actually take photos of things like this :) Apart from the few added, more will be coming soon, I have some pictures of those Zoids and Zoid products that don't have reviews yet, and a few pictures of Zoids with reviews that I can't actually find where I put the photo, but all will be put up in time. A considerably more important update, for the first time since Zoid Empire was created, the Amusing Pictures section is up! So far it contains a few pieced together events from Zoids Chaotic Century. There were a few more I wanted to add but need a few more images of first (time for me to bring out the VCR and capture card again) in time I hope to have quite a few amusing pictures there from all three series, including ones I or other people have captioned. And since I'm not and never have been sure the Amusing Pictures page was a good idea, please let me know your view by following the link on the Amusing Pictures page and voting about it. Thanks. Adding to the earlier update, Nameless Planet Zi's Log, Desert Memories, is now finally online, though there are other logs in the log blog under the link on the NPZ page :) January 2006 Update 01: Happy new year everyone :) Yes, the site has been lacking in updates including those promised for a while, I actually have some kitbashed models that need to find their way into an update at some time, and several other sections that have been long awaited on Zoid Empire which are almost ready to put up. No promises though. I got an email a while back that was unable to reply to, asking about official Zoids sites and asking that I keep ZE going and add more content. When I made this site I put a lot of effort into having things that other Zoids sites didn't have to the same extent (as well as adding in the more common ones) so I ignored things such as Zoid lists, Episode lists and guides, and other things that other sites out there could and had done far better than I was able to. However, with the number of Zoids sites decreasing due to people losing interest in the fandom, I might be expanding the range of content already present on Zoid Empire to include more of those things (hopefully after I finish the sections I already have). I'm sure you've noticed, in most countries Zoid models are becoming near impossible to find, my most recent Zoid, a Sinker, was ordered via net, since Zoids are no longer available here and haven't been for quite a while. You can find a review of my new Zoid, along with a completely altered Toy Reviews section, which is the reason for this update. I've finally gone through all the toy review pages and updated the coding to the point where it fits with the new site, contains a list of the newer Zoids I've acquired and has a list of other merchandise I own or have found added too (Though no reviews writen for that yet). Even though this isn't the most exciting update in the world it took an amazing amount of work to get done, and now that it's out of the way, I'll be able to focus on other more interesting updates in the future. One last note, for anyone who's visited the forum recently or at all, you'll notice that there is little action there, and that people are usually slow to respond. This is due to the fact that I got tired of talking to myself in order to keep it active, or checking posts frequently when I was the only person on there posting. So when someone does actually log in and post something I might see it the next day, I might see it four months from now. In a way the forum is effectively closed until I get around to 'pruning' it and contacting all those who saw it, joined, posted a few times and left from bordom. If all of us were there at one time talking about Zoids I can imagine it'd be a busy place, but until that happens (which means I have more work to do) there will probably be little action in that direction. July 2005 Updates: Don't ever think there's ever such a thing as a small update, I decided to update the RPG section, and, well... This would be a LARGE update, everything has been moved, so the content from the old site is now here, some of the pages have additional content, some do not. Currently my computer is falling apart, so to save some things I'm updating and putting them on my site, this means there will be a lot of updates in a short space of time followed by an unknown amount of time where I won't be able to access a computer to update ZE. Until then, enjoy the updates while they're happening :) The forum has a contest now, check it out. More updates will be following soon. More April 2005 updates: Fan Art section is back up, and with LOTS more fanart. A lot of awesome Transformer CG art by Dys :) April 2005: A new affiliate, this time it's a site that I'm in the process of taking over, it'll be on the links page once I update that section... The site itself was made and run by Kaspa for about three years, updating every week, bringing Mysterious Cities of Gold episodes back to MCOG fans worldwide :) and on dial up no less... Thanks to him I got to see once more a TV show that was a big part of my life as a kid, and something I never forgot. Even if you've never heard of the show it's worth checking out :) and with some weapons I reckon the golden condor could stand up to most flying zoids ;) See you there... The Sphynx Adoption Center is closed, for ever. The site is still there though, if you want to visit them.
