Incubation period
During the incubation period I like to add one to five eggs a day untill a max of 20 eggs in a months hatching time is accumulated. (1 egg daily for 20 days = one hatchling a day)(5 eggs a day for 4 days = five hatchlings a day) The first method gives more routine control over the production of the eggs while the second give a faster turn over time for the incubator. I personally found the first method better for starting out.
Incubation routine Day 1 - checked the incubator temp. and made sure it was a steady 98 to 100.5 degrees(F). - checked water level in the dish bellow the mesh. Should be at least half full. - place egg(s) with large end up in the incubator. (large end is the less pointy end)
Day 2 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg(s) with large end up in the incubator.
Day 3 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg(s) with large end up in the incubator. - mist eggs with water lightly.
Day 4 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg(s) with large end up in the incubator.
Day 5 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one)
Day 6 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one) - mist eggs with water lightly.
Day 7 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg(s) with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one) - checke water level in the dish under the mesh. (refill to half way at least if needed)
Day 8 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one)
Day 9 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one) - mist eggs with water lightly.
Day 10 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one)
Day 11 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one)
Day 12 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one) - mist eggs with water lightly.
Day 13 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one)
Day 14 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg(s) with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one) - checke water level in the dish under the mesh. (refill to half way at least if needed)
Day 15 - check temp. regulate with a large towel around the base if bellow 98'F or open the side door and vent heat if reaches 101'F. - place egg with large end up in the incubator. (if using method one) - mist eggs with water lightly
