|5-04-04- It's a BOY!! We had our big ultrasound this morning and he was not shy about letting us see! Check out the picture below! He is measuring right on with my estimated due date. We took Maddie with us and she was excited when we found out...then a few minutes later she said "why am I not having a sister??" Since she found out she was going to be a big sister...it has always been "my baby sister". So I told her that I bet her baby brother would love to play in the mud with her, play trains and cars...and that she won't have to share her clothes, make up or her pony tail holders and bows. So when she got to school she told everyone "I am having a baby brother and he's going to play in the mud with me"...too cute. So there ya have it...it's Gavin Micah and we are so excited he will be joining our family!! TTFN!!
5-11-04- Well we are still adjusting to the idea of having a boy. Every so often Madeline will start crying out of the blue saying she wanted a sister. I just remind her of all the fun she will have with her brother. Mother's Day was nice. Micah and I went to Modesto for a few hours while we left Maddie with his mom. We then came back to their place and hung out a few hours with them. We didnt' really do anything exciting...just relaxing. Micah actually felt Gavin move in the wee hours of the morning, while we were chillin on the couch watching TV when we should have been sleeping. Today Madeline had her head on my big belly and Gavin kicked, punched...whatever, in her head and she was so excited...she thought it was the coolest thing. So I am thrilled that others can finally feel what I have been feeling for a few weeks now!! I have bought a few outfits for him...thinking that would help me come to terms with having a boy...and it has to some degree...I know that I love him, I just never pictured having any boys. I also found a very cute bedding set!! So a lot of my battles are coming together!! TTFN!!
5-17-04- Well not much has changed here. Gavin is growing and still kicking, punching, rolling, etc. He seems to be move active during the afternoon and evening so far...which is good since he hasn't been keeping me up at night!! I can do that all on my own. Micah and I went to Nevada this weekend to pick out the particulars for our house...that was fun and Maddie got to spend 2 nights at Grandma Hambletons house...she LOVED her little sleepover!! The drive over and back was fine, I wasn't too uncomfortable...yet. I didn't sleep in the timeshare...between just not being able to sleep anywhere other than my bed and the trains...which ran about 1/2 a block from our room and honking the horn at every block...I didn't get more than 1/2 hour sleep at a time and then it took me forever to fall back asleep. All is fine other than Madeline not going to sleep at this moment and me getting pretty upset about that!!!! I need her to go down so I am now going to have to make her. TTFN!
|5-20-04- Well I went to my primary doctor today for what I thought were a cluster of spider bites at the top of my inner thigh...well it turned out to be shingles!! Well that sucks! So far from what I understand it poses not threat to Gavin...just hurts me a lot and can continue to do so for the rest of my life. It is a nerve condition associtated with the chicken pox virus that remains dormant in your body once you have the chicken pox. So pretty much anyone who has had them has a chance of getting this painful aftermath!! The Dr was able to give me some Lidoderm...which is patches that have lidocaine in them to help with the pain. They didn't need to give me antibiotics since they are already scabbed over and not the blisters that they start out as. Hopefully I will be able to put a pic of them here for you to see. That's the new news for today and Gavin is kicking and moving as I am typing this!!! TTFN!|
|This is a shingles outbreak!!|
|5-28-04- Not much is happening here. Gavin is moving around like crazy. This past week I have really felt him moving a lot while I am standing. Every once in awhile it catches me off guard and I grab my belly or double over...if it is a low blow. He also likes to sit either very low in the middle or totally on my right side. This can be very painful and when he does this I need to lay down and try to move him out from where he is. On another note: This was the last week of school at both schools for Madeline. Oh boy what fun this summer will be. Maddie and I together all day everyday!! It is just the beginning since I am not sure if we will be putting her into school once we get to Fernley. I think that she is almost totally adjusted to having a brother and not a sister. I think she will be a great big sister...I know the first adjustment will be a bit difficult, but she will get the hang of a newborn (as will we) and all will be fine. TTFN!!
6-14-04- Well things have been ok. This weekend was Madeline's 4th b-day party and we picked my mom up from the airport on Friday night. Maddie and I had been sick for 3 days and I carried her around that day...which I don't do anymore since being PG. Well, at the airport I went to the potty and my panyliner was half covered in red blood! I call the Dr. on call and he said to stay off my feet for the weekend and call if things got worse. Well Sat. morning I HAD to do a few last things and when I got home there was a little spotting...I stayed off my feet for the rest of the weekend and I have had no bleeding or spotting since. Hopefully I just over did it being sick and carrying my sick 4 year old. I am jsut going to make sure that I don't pick her up unless it is NECESSARY!! I am getting big, uncomfortable and he is sitting VERY low!! Welcome to the wonderful world of pregnancy. I don't remember this happening until much later with Maddie...oh well. TTFN!!
