| Trekking up river in the summer is a great way to relax and unwind from a busy lifestyle. Nikau Valley Horse treks arranges 3 -4 day treks up the Whakatane River from the Ruatoki valley staying at locally owned property. Trekkers are given a wonderful experience in learning about local history and culture. A variety of day treks are taken from the base camp . The luggage is often taken up river by horse drawn wagon |
