ell, we’ve been back in Pittsburgh for almost five months now.  But somehow, I still don’t seem to know what the heck is going on.

I have to admit, the place I’ve acclimated myself the best is at work.  I really feel like I fit in here still.  I can’t say that I’ve really made any friends on the job yet, at least not like I did at the other place – but, in retrospect, it probably took about five years before I really had what I would consider friends.  I am getting my name out there, though, and there are even a couple of guys who seem to enjoy talking to me (of course, one of them seems to enjoy talking to anybody.)

Other than that, though, I’m kind of living up to my reputation as a loner.  We rarely see any of our old friends – it’s tough to make many plans with the baby, and even tougher because there seems to be an epidemic of pregnancies going around.  I still haven’t really met anyone from around our neighborhood, except for a guy who shook hands with me while we were shoveling snow, and a bunch of little kids who showed up on our back porch, asking if any kids lived at our house.  Technically, there is, of course, but unfortunately, I don't think they can play street hockey with an eight-month-old.
