Staff Roster

General Spadershanks
Commander in Chief
Gutter Gate Command

"I commend your efforts in helping Colonel Nepi and I to establish this command, and for the work I know you will do in making it a success.  It is VITAL that we explore all gutters, and share the information we find there.  We must somehow recoup the cost of setting up this facility.  I ask only that you bring your imagination and sense of humour to your duties here.  Together, we will succeed!"

Now, as if you didn't know, I'm Colonel Nepi from Gutter Gate Command, and I'm in command of Gutter Gate 1, the first of the GGC's teams to be established.

As Colonel, I intend to maintain a close (personal, intimate) working relationship under General Spadershanks.  Access to the General will be strictly through me, and the General and I will be maintaining a "closed-door" policy. It's good to be the boss!

For starters, allow me to introduce you to the current senior members of staff:

Major Abydos - who is our premier Gutter writer, and currently holds the trophy for best online interactive fiction.  Abydos recently received a field commission to Major for her services to the GGC.  Major Abydos is also my senior aide-de-camp - if you want to get to me, you are going to have to go through her.  As a side note, Major Abydos is also a skilled maker of alcoholic beverages (her Daniel has to be tasted to be believed) and she knows any number of naughty songs. She is also the proud owner and proprietor of Aby's lair, the Gutter's premier beach house!

Major Cruz - whose speciality is gutter addresses.  Major Cruz received a field commission for her work in correcting stellar drift and establishing valid gutter addresses for the locations found in the Gutter map room.  Major Cruz will be sending probes through to these gutters as soon as possible, and we hope to have images we can post to this database soon.  This will be invaluable in planning assignments at a later date.  Major Cruz also runs the cloning centre - you better be nice to her!

Major Samantha Jackson - Sam received a field commission for her ssterling work in establishing this database in its original incarnation, and for setting up the original mailing list. On a more personal note, Major Jackson recently married Dr Daniel Jackson from our sister command SGC.  Our congratulations go to her on this happy event.

Major Gee (G-Baby) - Major Gee is our foremost graphic artist, and received her field commission for her work in designing the GGC logos you see on this database. She is also our photographer in residence - any pictures you see of the General, or any of the clones, are likely to be hers. Major Gee also runs the Gutter Guest House, where we have all spent many a happy hour or rest and recreation - or should that be rambunctiousness and running wild?

Capt. G.E. Watcher – In charge of emptying the gutter drool buckets, of which there are plenty at GGC, Capt. G.E. Watcher is more shamelessly known by her comrades as GEW. Capt. GEW wishes she had more time to write gutter fanfic, perhaps then she’d be promoted to major. But busy as she is, she still finds time to enjoy all other activities at GGC.

Update MAJOR Kay - Kay has been around the GGC since its inception, and as she reminded me, was originally granted the rank of Captain. Apologies to Captain Kay for forgetting that!! Captain Kay has always provided meritorious service, being a generally "all in the gutter" kind of officer! It is my great pleasure to advise that Captain Kay has received a field commission to the rank of major, effectively immediately, for her incredible work in the creation of Kay's Ice Palace. Lieutenant Padders The Lieutenant is a recent, but very enthusiastic, recruit to the GGC. He received his first field commission, to his current rank, as a result of his work in developing the banner for the official Gutter Gate Command database (which, unfortunately, got lost in the translation to our new location). Lt Padders is currently on a form of administrative leave, as he furthers his studies. He will be kept up to date on activities, and has assured the General and I that he has more projects planned to contribute further to the GGC. Keep an eye on this bright young officer - he will go far!

New Recruits!!!!

We welcome back to the Gutter our very own Captain Panth, who has not been missing in action after all!

Captain Panth - She has, and I quote, "been busy in the Sarcophagus Research Facility (Playing With Boxes Division), practicing ways of bringing Kawalsky back". Panth advises, "Just taking a break from the Verified Strategic Unit for Sarcophagi Studies (Veri SUSS). We should be able to publish a summary of our findings soon . . .

Kawalsky: They're cramped, uncomfortable and don't go with any kind of decor

. . . OK, so we could publish now. But anyway . . .

Kawalsky: And you can fit two in them if you squeeze.

. . . What are you, my press agent?

It appears we have to add a Kawalsky clone to the menagerie! Welcome back Panth, we've missed you!

New members include:

Airman Drift - no further details as yet.

We also welcome Doctor Rowan, who was a member of another Gutter Brigade and has joined our merry crew. Waiting on a bio from her.

Airman Jay - an enthusiastic new recruit. We expect great things from her, if present performance is anything to go by!

As in any command, we currently have openings for Captains and of course for lower ranks.  Specialist personnel, such as anthropologists and medical staff, are also sought.  Rank on recruitment will be on the basis of skills and recommendations by the existing senior staff. Field promotion can be expected to be rapid, depending on the service provided to the organisation.

Application should be made via the mailing list, and will be considered on merit by the senior staff. Alternatively, register your interest through our guestbook below, and one of the senior staff will contact you!
