| What would have been: This song would have occured right after Esmeralda saves Quasimodo and Phoebus from the gallows, while the gypsies are feasting before they leave their home. It would have involved Esmeralda and Phoebus's plans to start a new life together and Quasimodo discovering his inner strengh through his ability to put Esmeralda's happiness in front of his. The directors thought it would be a great insight to learn more about the central characters of the film and feel for the happiness of two of them and the strengh of the other, but ultimatly it was decided that this song distracted from the main story. |

| What I think: This is my personal favorite of the three deleted songs, and the one I'm the most angry at Disney for cutting out. Sure, tight storytelling is important, but five minutes of lingering with our heroes would have been beautiful. It would have dug deeper into Esmeralda and Phoebus's developing love for each other, and Quasimodo's love of the most unselfish kind. |
