Make the most of yourself...for that is all there is of you.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

{what is your name?}

My name is Christel.  Some people call me Christel and some people call me Marie.  I respond to both but I must note that I especially like people who pronounce my name the way that I do when I first introduce myself.  It just shows that they're really listening to me.

{do you like it?}

I love my name.  I think it's unique enough but also familiar because its kind of a variant of the name, Crystal, although not pronounced that way.  It also helps me know about people when I introduce myself.  The thing that I hate about it is that whenever I go to a souvenir shop, I never find my name in one of those nice pens or mugs.  I did find a bracelet with my name spelled exactly right when I was in Brussels.  To bad the bracelet was really ugly and expensive, otherwise, I would have bought it.

{would you ever name one of your children after you?}

Maybe I'll stick it in their middle name and see what they'll do with it.  It's kinda weird calling your daughter by your name.  I've never had anyone with my name before so it's going to be confusing if someone else who live with you have it too.

{are you satisfied with your looks?}

I've suffered with low self-esteem when I was really young just because I was taller than most of my classmates when I was a small kid.  I hated the fact that I never really felt like a child because I shot up really fast.  Now, I'm okay with the way I look, although I feel that I can do with a couple of exercises instead of just eating all day.  I am blessed with the fact that I can eat a lot and stay at my current weight, even though it's not what you call skinny or even slender.  I'll start on that diet one day, but I just love junk food right now. I'll worry when I don't fit in my favorite pair of jeans.  I am proud to say that I never got addicted to soft drinks such as Coke or Pepsi.  I find that the older you get and the more you consume it, your metabolism just catches up with you.  I tend to drink a lot of water so that's one part of my diet that I'm proud of.

{if you could, would you change anything about yourself? if so, what?}

My dream is to one day have the abs of steel.  But I won't be seeing that in the future since I can't even pass my 20 sit-ups a minute mark that I do everyday.  I also like Jennifer Aniston's arms.  It's very well toned.  Other than that, I like what God gave me.

{do you consider yourself popular?}

I have never been popular in my life, other than in a group project setting.  I don't know why people tend to look at me for answers since I see myself as a quiet person.  I think it's probably because I'm the kind of person who tries to get the work done and tend to research the subject until my head can't take it anymore.  Other than that, no.  I try to stay in the background unless I'm needed.

{who is your best friend?}

I have a few people who I call close friends.  You could say I'm to independent.

{what do you look for in a friend?}

I look for people who I feel are real.  I like people who listen and are not judgmental. I don't like people who tend to follow the crowd.  I like people who have an opinion, even though I think it's wrong.  I don't really like people who gossip a lot.

{who do you trust the most out of all your friends?}

I trust most of my friends, otherwise, they wouldn't be my friend. If I have a secret, then I don't tell anyone.  I don't understand why it has to be told if it is a secret and if I don't want another person to know about it.

{do you get along with your siblings?}

Yes.  I am fortunate to have the best brother and sister in the world.  I know that sometimes, we don't get along, but they're the best.

{use one word to describe your parents.}

traditional

{do you have any secrets that you have not told anyone?}

Yes.  I believe that everyone is entitled to something that no one knows about.

{what is your worst fear?}

Probably public speaking but considering my job, people wouldn't pick that as my worst fear.  I think that to beat the fear, you should go ahead and do it so that you won't be afraid of it anymore. Although, I do have a terrifying fear of dead bodies, but I don't think I'm going to be hanging out in a funeral parlor.  You have to be smart about it.  Beat the fears that are beneficial for you.

{what makes you happier than anything?}

I like getting lost in a good book.  There's no other feeling in the world better than that.

{share one thing about yourself that some of us might not know.}

Church chicken is the best chicken in the world, and I love chicken. Yes I know it's ghetto but I still think it's the best.

{what is your religion?}

I'm Roman Catholic by birth and by choice.

{do you like that religion?}

Sometimes.  It's the only religion that I know.  I went to Catholic school for elementary school and for high school so we had to learn all the theology and such.  I believe in many of its teachings such us Jesus being God but there are other things that I find iffy.  I'm still exploring it and I don't believe that I'll truly be not a Catholic.  I still go to church on Sundays but I'm not one of those kinds of Catholics who's waving their hands while singing and while I do own the bible, I don't read it everyday.

{do you believe in fate, the belief that everything happens for a reason?}

Yes, I do believe that everything is connected in some way and that things, both good and bad do happen for a reason.

{do you believe in love at first sight?}

No, I really don't.  Love is something that I think you grow into and that needs a lot of work.

{do you believe in re-incarnation?}

I really don't know anything about reincarnation.  Sometimes, I have that sense of deja-vu but I don't attribute it to reincarnation.  I won't dismiss the idea, but I don't fully believe in it either.

{do you believe in ghosts?}

I don't believe in ghosts.  It scares the sh** out of me but I don't think that there are ghosts.

{do you believe in witches?}

Nope.  That one is a firm no too.

{do you believe in life after death?}

Yes, I do believe that there is life beyond death.  It's kinda one of those reward and punishment things.  If you're good here, then something good that awaits you in the next life.  If you're bad, good luck to you in your next life.

{have you ever been in love?}

Nope, I don't think I've ever been in love.

{if not, do you think you'll ever be in love?}

I know this sounds pessimistic, but I don't think I'll ever be in love.  I'm just to choosy and independent to be tied down.
