PONY CLEANING TIPS
Since some of the ponies are almost 20 years old, they usually require extensive cleaning.   When I receive a new pony, the first thing I do is give her/him a good bath.  I use shampoo on the body and hair and condition the hair also.  I usually blow dry the hair rather than let it air dry for better control.  I then use small curlers to give the mane and tail curl and/or body.  To remove stains, I use acetone finger nail polish remover and a cotton ball.  When trying a new brand, I use a test pony to make sure the eyes and decals won't run.  I have also found that comet with bleach works really well and doesn't harm the decals.    Through advice through the web vine, I have learned to use toothpaste and an old tooth brush to remove tail rust.  I know that some remove the heads to thoroughly clean the inside, but I cannot bring myself to do this again.  I did it once and it was just too traumatic!!  I am looking for advice on how to remove the infamous highligher marks.   I haven't found anything yet that works and would appreciate any suggestions!!!!!!
